I just met Jackie Chan...

Post by thelostdragon »

Hey,

I just came back from the premier of 'New Police Story' over here in Germany. It was so cool. We sat down in the theatre and on the screen we saw a TV coverage of Jackie outside on the red carpet. When he came inside the theatre he came down the stairs and shook my hand. It was such an awesome experience. He not only presented the film, he said he'd brought a present with him, too. It was the music video from 'The Myth' which ran for about 4 minutes and featured lots of scenes from the film. After it was over he asked the audience if they liked it and everybody cheered. Then he thanked everybody and left. The film started and the audience loved it.

Here is a pic I took with my mobile phone camera. I'll post other pics as soon as I get them from my colleagues:

Cool man. you have met lots of azn celebrities by now. Their hired German bodyguards must think you're a stalker or having an azn fetish by now :D

How did you like NPS? And did they show the dubbed version (guess they did...:( )
Here in Holland they are showing the english dubbed version, which is also said to be horrible...

... but then again, I know you dont really mind dubs, so you must have had a great time :D

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

The dub was quite good to be honest.

I had a great time, not only because Jackie was there, but because I was happy to see that an Asian JC movie was liked so much by the German audience. People were cheering, laughing and clapping their hands throughout the whole film. There were great laughs all the time.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get Jackie to sign my 'New Police Story'-DVD. Should have brought a DVD-rip burnt onto a CD. He might have had paid more attention then, lol!

reminds me of that classic soundbite of a guy calling EA Canada, complaining about how NHL '98 or whatever is wayyy to unrealistic because of all kinda crap, and then after 5 minutes orso he tells the EA guy he's happy he hadnt paid any money for the game, but downloaded it fro the internet. The EA guy was laughing his ass off!!! :D

...I doubt Jackie would get the joke, though... ;)

I know what you mean, but did he seem nice, you know? Or was it very impersonal? Because when I met Tony Robinson I had a chat with him as well as shaking his hand, and he was a really friendly guy. :)

Well, Jackie appeared as usual. Nice, happy etc etc... but if you looked closely enough, you could see that he was a bit tired. Can't blame him.

As for Tom Cruise... LOL! We had the strangest short chat ever! I was about 16 years old or so and my English was rather poor compared to my current English.

Tom (after giving me an autograph and while shaking my hand): Have you ever been to America?
Me: Yes. I was in Ohio.
Tom (after letting off my hand): Oh really? It's very cold there in the winter!

I was like... WTF? I mean cool, but what kind of a funny conversation. Well, at least he went around before getting into the theatre and took time for his fans, unlike John Woo who had appeared earlier with his wife. He got out of the car, waved around and then he entered the cinema, lol.

I wanted to see The Myth while in Thailand but they're were only showing it in Thai with no English subs.

The age old issue of "it's martial arts so we'll dub it" , dramas etc . . . don't get dubbed.

Has anyone seen it?

Back on OT that is so cool LD.

I'll ask him it takes far to long to browse through that thread to bother with.

Is the DVD out then?

Thanks though.
