Re: What have you just ordered?
Ordered a bunch of books...
- David Mack's Kabuki HC
- David Mack's Reflections HC
- Daredevil Collection 1 & 2
- Adam Hughes artbook
Hopefully, this time all books will arrive in proper condition. Last time I ordered from Amazon, a bunch of books were damaged.

Please post what these look like, when you get around to watching them. I bet Thin Red Line was pricey. How much did you pay for Apocalypse Now?saltysam wrote:Apocalypse Now-Full Disclosure Edition

Girlfriend picked me up 'Un Prophete' today for 7,50 euro. I'll see her next week, so I'll probably get it then.
Also received Naruto manga 48, plus GamesTM magazine.

It's amazing for how cheap some people people are selling dvds at amazon marketplace... picked up uk stuff for 0.19£ (Hot Fuzz 2 Disc) and 0.60£ (Severance)

The Akira BR is region A only and out of print, right!? There isn't a region B blu-ray out that's good!?

Re: What Have You Just Received?
DIDN'T receive my amazon.com order with books today. Mailman came by and wanted me to pay 20 bucks: 5-6 euro in taxes, which I'm OK with, and 12,50 in 'administrative costs', which I refused, so I declined to accept the package and told them to return it.
Fucking TNT.
How much do you guys have to pay for a packagefrom a non-eu country if your government want taxes over it!? Just the taxes, or also an additional cost by the postoffice for the handling of that tax-collection!?

Re: What Have You Just Received?
I can't remember the exact figure as it varies from courier to courier but I'd imagine we'd be paying around the same with TNT (probably somewhere in the region of 9-12euro).
Who really take the piss are Royal Mail, who charge a little less (£8/9euro) and as far as I'm aware actually do pretty much no extra administration on the package - they won't even deliver the fucking item to your door if you have to pay a charge, you have to go pick it up from a nearby depot. That's what really gets my goat about the whole thing (although the fact their admin charge has risen in less than 10yrs from 2% of the item cost to £8 regardless does smart a LITTLE bit!

Re: What Have You Just Received?
They also won't deliver goods to me if they need signing/are too big for the letter box. I always have to go down and collect them. I asked why and was told because you live in a building with 8 flats anyone could forge your signature.
And they couldn't at the depot too? I'd show the same ID at home as I would the depot. Little fuckers. It's not consistent though, sometimes (not often) the post man has rung the buzzer and someone has taken the parcel off him, and put it with the rest.
There was also a recent Watch dog topic showing how inconsistent they are with allowing items in as "letter" or "large letter" if they're just over. The trouble is the person behind the counter doesn't always check but the machine do, so charges can later apply.

I've seen a bunch of Imamura films on Finnish TV a few years ago... Vengeance is Mine, Zegen, Postwar History of Japan as Told by a Bar Hostess, Intentions of Murder, and Eijanaika.

Absolutely amazing! Compelling, fascinating, hilarious, unique, it's one of the best films I've ever seen! Eureka are legends for releasing this, especially with its beautiful presentation and package. I'm now looking forward to watching Vengeance Is Mine.HungFist wrote:Comments after you've seen it, onegai.
