Only the Special Edition, apparently, but if those caps are from the SE it doesn't look like any tampering has been applied.

Maybe he degrained it but not excessively.

As already mentioned Cameron claimed to have completely removed the grain for the Aliens SE, so the grain we see in these BD caps could very well be artificial - which may look ok in static grabs but appear quite unnatural in motion. Expect a more convoluted debate on these transfers once the AVSforum peeps are able to buy copies for themselves! I might be reviewing the UK set and I don't look forward to talking about the Aliens transfer!

Why would you remove grain, only to add it artificially back in again?

Mostly they do it to give the impression of film, mostly.

Mine arrived a couple days ago but I had to pick it up from the sorting office.

Watched Alien and most of the extras on Disc 1 last night - with a box of tissues on standby (for the tears - honest!)

Well it was an amazing experience. Blu Ray and a good home cinema is really bringing the cinema experience to the home. I mean for real. I've had Beta, VHS, VCD, DVD, Laserdisc an finally Blu Ray and for me this was as thrilling as a big screen viewing and like watching the movie like I'd never seen it before! The quality is so good I can't imagine it being much better without a projector in my living room!!

Anyway who go this? Who's the biggest Alien/s/3/Resurrection fan and who can tell me if I still need to pick up the Quadrilogy on DVD for the 9th disc? I've only ever owned the 1 and 2 disc release of Alien :)

Surely it's on the BD box set no?
