Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Forgot about that
but then I'd face possible customs with Amazon as well I'm sure.
Shame they lowered the limit (if it was £18 I'd be safe)...

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
I'll see if ImportCDs come through with my order.
The runtime of 255 minutes on the link you showed me must be a mistake (each film is about 85 minutes long)
Could be looking at £35 if I'm caught by customs, youre right

Just a reminder for future orders, if you order from Moviemars they're safe as they reship from Surrey.grim_tales wrote:Could be looking at £35 if I'm caught by customs, youre right

That's good to know. I use them on Amazon marketplace but have always kept orders under the customs limit.gasteropod wrote:Just a reminder for future orders, if you order from Moviemars they're safe as they reship from Surrey.

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Theyre a good seller
I was wondering if I come to sell my LWAC DVD set (the Thai one) if the BD set is good, if its easier to sell each disc seperately. The box would be pricey to send in one go.

You might be able to get more for a complete set (just be upfront with buyers about the high postage charge). If you don't get a suitable offer then you can always split them.

Ordered Bullet in the Head (apparently Joy Sales) from an Ebay seller - probably the 1 disc (most likley) BUT if it has the alternate ending/deleted scenes version I'll put it with the K&R DVD I have to make my own 2 disc SE

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
How many DVDs and BDs do you own, gas? Seems like your collection is growing at pretty fast pace...
I'm the opposite... my collection is shrinking. I'm trying to get about 100 discs sold / rid off by next summer...

I keep getting rid of discs so that I have space for more haha, a few nights ago I fancied watching The Green Hornet but couldn't find it anywhere so decided I must have sold it at CeX and simply forgotten doing soHungFist wrote:How many DVDs and BDs do you own, gas? Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
I have about 650 + another 60 for sale at the moment + a few handfuls of unwatched discs. Through during the last 10 months I must have sold at least 100 discs while only purchasing maybe 15.
Need to get the number down (especially with new discs coming in) but it's so damn difficult letting go of a dvd/bd that was already placed in your collection... usually because the film is good, and sometimes because it's rare collectale item or it completes some sub-collection. Sometimes it simply has nostalgic value. You really have to come up with all kinds of different perspectives to it to help you decide what you could live without... what will I (not) watch again? What can I get from the rental store any time? What is a less great representative of a genre that is already well represented in my collection? What is my identity as a movie collector (you can't collect everything you like)? And so on...
Watching the first 15-25 minutes of a film that you once liked is really useful. Often you notice that this film isn't that much of your thing anymore... say, you might have bought a mediocre Shaw Bros film when you were new to the studio, but won't find it nearly as exiting anymore after seeing various better films of the same style. Or your taste has simply changed. I started buying dvds when I was 14. I'm now 26. 12 years makes a difference to anyone's taste in movies.

I totally agree Hung, it's hard to let go of stuff. I know what you mean about 'identity as a collector' also, it's nice to try and curate a cool collection rather than just going for quantity.
