When you select the original music, it uses the original title card of 'The Raid' too! Nice.gasteropod wrote:Received:

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Our B&N orders finally turned up and both were marked as 'book'. Took an age... but perhaps worth it if you're ordering something over the customs limit.
Also our second Amazon Global order came thru without a hitch. So more good news there.

I don't know how B&N can get away with that, it seems somewhat illegal :S

It is illegal, but I doubt B&N are afraid of UK customs and excise.gasteropod wrote:I don't know how B&N can get away with that, it seems somewhat illegal :S
At worst they would get a managable fine and a wrap on the knuckles.
It's only good business to continue.

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Tried ordering Singin' In The Rain 60th AE BD again when it turned up cheaper, this will be the 3rd time I had a go at it, the previous two I got told a "listings error" meant only the single disc BD was available despite the listing on the sellers page suggesting otherwise (Ebay and Amazon)
If this doesnt work I'll wait til the price drops in the new year.

Received: Blue Velvet (US Blu-ray).
The newly discovered lost footage seems to have better PQ than the film itself! (Not that the film has bad PQ).

I truly wish the European and probably asian versions hadn't been fucked up with just having the US cut. I'm in Hong Kong right now and the movie is sold really cheap here, but from what I can gather on the internet it's just the US cut, so sadly I won't bother with it.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

The US music actually makes the fight scenes even more exciting, but yeah I totally agree with you, and yeah I was just surprised that Sony bothered to make it branch to different credits and titlesYi-Long wrote:As it should, but I agree it's a good touch.

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
The other day I recieved: Singin' in the Rain BD from a marketplace seller (but it was the single disc BD so I sent it back)
It was listed on Amazon's product page as being the Ultimate Edition one!
How can several sellers make such mistakes, getting annoyed with this now.

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Now that I'll be in Hong Kong for the coming year, we had to invest a bit in our living room, so last week we bought a new Full HD Panasonic Plasma (which are very hard to find in HK, but luckily we managed to find a good one for less than 600 euro).
Yesterday we went out and picked up a PS3 for our gaming and movie needs. Picked up a 'slim' red model, cause I'm not interested in the newer 'super slim'. Sadly, no-one is selling the candy-blue PS3 anymore, which was a bit of a disappointment.
Still to buy:
- A good-quality camera to start working on my photography.
- A laptop that DOESN'T come with fucking Windows 8.
- Possibly a powerful (Chinese) tablet. Might even consider buying and using that tablet if suitable software is available for photo-editing, and if I can't find a good laptop with Windows 7.
- A (chinese) smartphone, cause right now I've still got a very simple 20 euro Samsung which can only text and make phonecalls, and not much else, but I can get a subscription for only 6 euro a month here with internet-access and all that.
- Printer/scanner, which luckily doesn't have to be expensive.
Kind of an expensive first period here in Hong Kong, but that was to be expected

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Thats what I thought
And the BD already has all the same features as the Utimate Edition DVD did - dont see the point of putting another DVD in there.
I hope the February releases feature the original art - I'll be upgrading OHMSS and YOLT and maybe getting Diamonds - I'm not sure

I thought the USA art looked more interesting than the Ultimate Editions - oh well.
