Park Ji Sung

CAn I have an HONEST appraisal of the guy?

Over here the media is NATIONALISTIC in the extreme..so he is portrayed as being the great Korean player for Man U...even though he is usually on the bench!!

One neighbor here said that the reason Man U are having a dry spell is because they dont pass to him enough!!!!!

I know he is pretty good as I have seen him play here a few times...Just want to know how he holds up to Premiership action..

Well, since I'm from Holland, I've seen him for a couple of years ofcourse while he was at PSV. I'd say he's very good. With PSV, he was always working hard and doingw ell on the pitch, but he did have a couple of periods where he was a bit less good then he could have been. last season though, he seemed to benefit from kezman being gone, and he went for goal more often. In the champions league he was very very good, especially in the 2 matches against AC Milan.

It seems he doesnt get many playing minutes at Man Utd, which is a shame really... as I think the games he DID play, he played well.

However... there was another korean at PSV last year, and I was even more impressed with him. Y.P. Lee! BRILLIANT leftback, who is now at Tottenham. Hopefully he can continue the great form he had at PSV...

Yeong Piu Lee (or however you spell it), who is now at spurs, yeah. He was absolutely tremendous at PSV. One of my fave players in the whole league. Sorry for replying so late btw.

Park Ji-sung will replace Richardson, offering the South Korean another chance to impress in what has been an eye-catching debut campaign with United since his move from PSV Eindhoven.

'You would have to say Ji has been terrific,' said Ferguson.

'He adds something different to the way we play. His movement and commitment to moving into space has been excellent and he will get better.

'All the little lad needs now is to score a couple of goals in a row or two in one game.'
from soccernet.com

Looks like Ferguson is very satisfied with Park, so it's kinda weird that Park isnt a regular starter. If you sometimes look at the line-up before a match, you'd think he'd be a better choice then the one Fergy sometimes puts in...
