There's people who don't like that film?

Though I tend to lend Hardboiled first to gauge if someone will like John Woo. I don't think I've found anyone that I've lent that too who hasn't at least somewhat liked it.

Thanks Sam :)
You could be right, possibly a firmware update is needed, seems a bit tempemental. I found now that, weirdly, Drunken Master has decided to work but DM II (previously fine) wont load :?
Police Story is fine though, for now :)

We dug out the old Tevion player (after our Toshiba upscaler died) so I'm going to try Drunken Master II again and see if it works. If it does I owe Sam some cash... :D

BD players unfortunately seem to need upgrading more often than dvd players ever did.the tevion i had stopped playing certain discs, especially ones with 2d/3d on the same platter. My Oppo which was expensive, won't play DM 2.My multi-region panasonic bought a year ago will play anything you throw at it.

Looks like I'll have to think about an upgrade of some kind, thanks Sam. Lately, these BD-Rs and even some Bruce Lee Legacy discs had trouble in mine.

Why is it that old discs sometimes stop working until you upgrade? For example, I had no problems playing Sailor Suit and Machine Gun BD on my PS3 until one day it said I need to upgrade the system to play the disc... well, it stated working again after an upgrade but why on earth did it stop in the first place?

Probably evil gremlins that manufacturers put into your players to ensure they need upgraded after a while... in the old days machines were built to last.

My Pioneer DVD player still plays everything (in the dvd format) that I put in. And I bought that around 2002 or 2003...

Well, I'm not really using it anymore cause I don't have it with me here, but it was working when I visited Finland during Christmas.

Maybe Finland is too cold for Gremlins?

I bought one of those disc cleaner jobbies for now (not a laser lens cleaner disc) but I fear my player is developing/has a problem with those BDs :( What a shame :(

If discs that are previously playing are not,and you haven't upgraded the firmware it sounds like a problem with the laser reading the discs.

Yes,a new Blu-Ray player ..seriously,if the laser's on the way out i imagine for what'd cost to replace it'd make a lot more sense to invest in a new machine.
