Lord of the Rings Return of the King PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by romerojpg »

Right I got my extended edtion of Return of the King today!

and well I am always carefull and know what I am doing and well I still couldnt stop this fook up!

I cannot get any of the dvds out of the diigipack things! the plastic holders are imposable to open at all in any way, I have already snapped off both the 1st 2 spindle push button holders! and cannot get the last 2 dvds out at all, without smashing the bloody things to pieces! or snapping the dvds in half!

anyone else's arsehole packaing like this! its beyond a joke! and there plastic cheap shit digipack crappo things are a total joke!

I am gonna get a replacment as its shite, but is it worth it as they all could be like this? :(

Romero did you get the R2 or R1?
If its the R1 thats strange, I have FOTR R1 (and will soon have TTT) the packaging is fine, its easy to get the discs out.

I know the R2 packaging is made of cheap-ass tissue paper in comparison to the sturdy R1 though.

Mines the same :( . I have the UK R2 also from Sendit which is where Romero's came from.

I have found a way to get them out without breaking anything though:

Push the button in, put a finger under the top right hand side of the DVD and using your thumbs fingernail push up the left hand side. It then comes out "pretty" easily. I've tried it twice and it works. You should only need 1 hand.

They are just new is all.

p.s - I had no problems with the previous 2 either.

Ahh well I find it ok to get others out, but the thing is as soon as I pressed the 1st 2 buttons both shattered off! I didnt apply that much force at all :( and the other 2 well lets just say they are stuck firmly no matter what I do they wont come out, not sure why they bother making them like this at all! muppets!

The last 3 come out fairly easily on mine but disc 1 is a right pain. As for the film I watched about 30 minutes of disc 1 and the AV is unsurprisingly tops. It's much nicer having Saruman (sp?) back in the film.

The DTS has the edge (there isn't much in it) with a slightly more dynamic sound. The PQ is great too.

Where did you buy yours from?

It maybe a faulty batch. I'm sure the clips will loosen with time.

Brad do you find the Two Towers EE discs are hard to get out of the box? My R1 EE of TTT has different "Press" spindles to Fellowship R1 EE so the discs are harder to get out IMO but they havent snapped or anything like Romero's have.
