Blunt may not be to your taste, fair do's Mark, but he has had several hit singles and a number one album whereas Shayne has had 1 No 1 single due to success handed to him on a plate on the back of a television show and shouldn't have been nominated. Neither should Tony Christie.

I'd rather listen to Tony Christie than James Blunt.

Besides when has popularity ever had anything to do with quality? 8)

I know, that was my point regarding Shayne 8)

It's only the song that's been nominated, Shayne Ward hasn't personally. I'm no fan of the song, but I don't see that it's any worse than anything else nominated. I really don't know what the problem is? :?

Is the award for "Best Single" based on sales then rather than Merit? I just find it hard to take seriously when stuff like TMG gets nominated. It doesn't say much for the hundreds of other songs released in 2005 does it? 8)

The best song of 2005 was Natalie Imbruglia's Shiver. Fact.

I quite liked that song :)

There you go then, proves my point that the contenders for best single are not nominated on merit :D And havent been for years :)

Didn't you all know that "charts" don't give an accurate picture of what is good music? Or even popular music? It just shows you what the studios want to sell...
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
