sing after me ' I hate egg card... I hate egg card....I hate

right last year was a stupid year, i ended up spreading debt on a few credit cards, which I have now consolodated back into my graduate loan.

part of the consolodation was closing my two credit cards, a sainsbury one and an egg one. Now the sainsburys one closed fine, a 5 minute phone call all sorted.

the egg one however proved more troublesome. first of all i rang them up, paid it off and asked them to close the account. they said yes no problem sir, please cut up your card which i did there and then.

a week later i ran out of money which was pretty freaky as I thought i had about a grand in the bank. I checked my account and discovered egg had taken a repeat payment of £1400 out of my account onto my egg card which I thought i had closed.

I rang them up rather angry, it turned out my card had been closed in the one database but not the other which makes no sense to me and still doesnt explain the second payment but still i just want it sorted, they agree to transfer the money back and close the card. In the mean time I had to extend my overdraft to give me money until the big lump sum was returned.

So the money was returned to my account, finally I thought until I got a statement come through via email over the weekend. My account still isnt closed, in fact now I owe wait for it.... 17p and they can't close the account until I pay them the fully amount.

so the moral of the story is dont get an egg credit card as you will NEVER be able to close the damn thing, the staff will greet you with a mixture of friendliness, outright lies and incompetance...

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, you did apply to a company called EGG!

I much prefer my BRANFLAKES credit card. They only charge 69.4% APR.
