Yank Ring 3 in the works

Post by EvaUnit02 »

I found this on the IMDB. Looks like the dismal sequel made decent money domestically (=Stateside) and was a hit worldwide (=outside States), imagine that it made good money on DVD as well, since the general populace are morons who will buy anything.

IMO it will turn prolly turn out crap even if that uber-hack Ehren Kruger doesn't pen it (the primary reason why Ring 2 sucked = his shitty script).

It's not surprising.

Mark Kermode (film critic) reckons the second is better than the first.

I have it but haven't seen it yet. The first was well made and well acted but incredibly vacant. It had none of the raw terror of the original.

I put Gore Verbinski and Brett Ratner very much in the same camp. Both talented at a particular level but both have zero artistic merit.

Personally I reckon "The Mexican" is Verbinski's best work. Ring = hmmm and POTC is incredibly overrated. It's a dumb Hollywood action film. I've never worked out why it's so popular. I so can't wait for the sequels (not).

I enjoyed POTC. Its' far more enjoyable than a film based on a theme park ride has any right to be :)
