Awww Shen I loved Barbar and Sesame Street :P
Ah yeah, that show where this elephant dude was king.

Seasame St. was so damn PC. They even had two obviously gay characters (Ernie and Bert).
Captain Planet
"Captain Planet, he's our hero
Gonna polution down to zero
He's our powers magnified
and he's fighting on the planet's side

Gonna help us pull asunder
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder

We're the planeteers,
you can be one too
Cuz saving the planet is fun to do
Looting and poluting is not the way
Hear what Captain Planet has to say:-
"By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"[/i

I don't know why I remember that.

Dr. Snuggles

"Dr. Snuggles, king of the animal world."

Now Reboot, that was a fucking awesome show. Especially seasons 3&4.

Beast Wars also kicked major ass, the only Transformers show that was ever genuinely good (I never saw the follow-up series, Beast Machines).

Freakazoid was a great show. A short-lived series from the same ilk as Tiny Toons, Pinky & the Brain and Animaniacs.

Can anyone remember Teddy Ruxpin? I remember they had a robotic tie-in toy that would mouth the words of programmed cassette tapes with stories on them. The toy would go insane if played without a tape.

My favourite Di$ney cartoon shows were probably Gargoyles Duck Tales and DARKWING DUCK.

Two of the best cartoons of the 00's:-
Image
Invader Zim:- a sharply written comedy series. Excellent. From cult comic writer, Jhonen Vasquez.

Image
Samurai Jack:- An excellent arty action series that paid homage to several filmmaking genres and directors. Eg Leone and Kurosawa, film noir, etc. From modern cartoon master auteur Genndy Tartakovsky.

You can be one too
For saving our planet
Is the thing to do
Looting and polluting
Is not the way
Hear what Captain Planet
Has to say
"The Power Is Yours"

I really dont know why I remember that :P

The Smurfs used to really annoy me, the way they'd replace most words in a sentence with the word "smurf" so it might go something like "We have to smurf the smurf that smurfed smurf"

Does anyone remember a little cartoon called Will Quak Quak (sp?) from the 80's? I think it was made by S4C (Welsh equivalent of UK Channel 4).

The mainstream will buy any old rehashed shit. Eg The butchered Crazy Frog version of the classic Beverly Hills Cop theme.

I remember I used to have some cartoon on video called "Time Fighters" (?) quite a bad animé (feature length) dubbed in English (well it was done in the anime style anyway).
The Time Fighters would go on adventures and meet Snow White (wierdly called "Snowflake" in the movie), Red Riding Hood and stuff.

(Sorry for the late reply)

Yeah, I remember it. Cant say I was a big fan but you're right about the music. I rembember liking the music very much :)

I also remember Super Ted and Bananaman. Liked them both, probably because back then I was still in my big superhero-fan phase :D So pretty much everything beginning with 'super...' or ending with '...man' caught my attention :D
