That price is nuts.

Pity it doesn't contain the 8th bonus disc (where all but the commentaries are) found on the R1 but still for £8.43 delivered who cares.

p.s - Beware EIV have released this three times:

First: The first 5 films, 5 disc box set
Second: The first 6 films, 6 disc box set
Third: All 7 films, 7 disc box set. This one!

Still New Line R1 got it right the fight time:

All 7 films + a bonus 8th disc.

Are these any good?

How do they compare to the original Halloween?
Which is considerably better than I thought it would be considering the rubbish sequels.

I'd like to see the first and for this price it would make sense to get the box set. I've probably seen it but it was such a long time ago.

I've been reading up on them and it seems most think 1, 3 and 7 are the best. With 2 and 4 supposedly really ropey.

I've only seen one of these... and it was pretty cool...

I think it was the very last one I saw.

Who cares if they are better than this or that. Look at the price. No risk. :D

One thing the r1 boxset has also got is the 3d glasses so you can watch Nightmare 6 in 3D. Okay it may be crap but just thought you should know ;)

BUGGER, BUGGER!

It must've been a mistake as they've put the price up to £16.97 (so £18.43). I bloody knew I should've ordered it last night.

I didn't think it would change this quickly and therefore decided to wait to hear some more feedback (from you guys). Stupid me.

Oh well no loss I wasn't hugely interested to see it, just interested but still

The series goes from best to worst (1-6) in exactly that order which is curious. Only New Nightmare (7) breaks downward spiral.

Each films is flawed in one way or another. A lot of fans hate Part 2 but I found it to be the creepiest because it deals with possession and makes the protagonist a killer. The whole nightmare sequence which starts in a gay bar and ends with a leather-clad homosexual being slashed to death in a shower is actually quite striking (if bordering on the homophobic).

The Friday The 13th series has been terrible from day 1 IMO. I've seen 1, 4, 6 and 10 (the last one, which ripped off Alien wholesale) and they all sucked - the inbetween instalments are prolly really bad too.

I've seen them all except Part 5 (for some reason...) and mostly they're pretty poor with Part 6, curiously, the only one I actually enjoyed on any level.

The first four are boring as hell, 7-8 are at least tolerable. Jason Goes to Hell I saw when it first came out and can't remember too well (I didn't like it at the time...); Jason X was trash, Freddy Vs Jason a little better.
