Green Snake: Mei Ah (R3) vs HK Vidéo (R2FR)

Post by tom2681 »

Green Snake.

Mei Ah DVD:
1:38:36 NTSC.
2:35 Anamorphic transfer.
Original cantonese mono + Dolby 5.1 and DTS remixes.
English subtitles.
Theatrical trailer.

HK Vidéo DVD:
1:34:48 PAL.
2:35 Anamorphic transfer.
Original cantonese mono.
French subtitles.
Promotional trailers.

Caps are resized to full anamorphic PAL resolution (for a fair comparison).

Different prints, different results. HKV picture is too dark and suffers from some edge-enhancement.
Mei Ah is cropped at the top, HKV is cropped at the bottom.

Mei Ah wins.

If anybody has the UK disc, I'd love to add those caps.

Next comparison: New Dragon Gate Inn (HK Vidéo vs Mei Ah).

I'd agree, the Mei Ah is the nicer looking option.

The HKV looks almost blurry (or have I been drinking again?)
