Anchor Bay Sale at Deepdiscountdvd - $4.99USD each

Post by EvaUnit02 »

Deepdiscountdvd are having an Anchor Bay sale, $4.99USD each + postage. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/studio.c ... =41&page=2

The titles range from good to utter shit looking. There's Hammer's last film To The Devil a Daughter, the great vampire road flick Near Dark (2-disc SE), Larry Cohen's The Stuff, Argento's Inferno and Cat O' Nine Tails.

Thats because you havent seen many of the films thats the only reason, if you had seen some then you would want them.

Most of them titles aint worth getting, or I have them already.

Vamp and Dead Heat are total classic and are both hilarious and superb films to boot.

That's partally true but like everyone else we base our opinion of what we want to see on Trailers, Reviews, Word of mouth and most AV material looks really rubbish B-Movie crud.

Note I said most: Halloween is excellent, as is Withnail and I, as is Wickerman (well that was good).

They do have Project A: Part 3 though: http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemid=ABD012970

Not really as in not really
The word "them" as in the titles in "That sale" Not all Anchor Bay titles.

B Movie Crud, you crack me up you really do. They have titles ranging from blockbusters, to no budgets, in pretty much every single genre going, on TV and film and you class them all as B Movie Crud  way to go.

I take it Fox, Warner, MGM, Sony etc only make one type of film then and they all can be put into a box as B Movie crud

Anchor Bay are one of the widest ranging companies in the world and release such a vast catalogue of dvds in every single category, its ignorant to put them down to B Movie crud, esspecially when you probibly havent seen more than a handful in your life out of the thousands they have available.

Damn, ROAD GAMES. I paid much more than that.
If you like Hitchcock check it out.

REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS... er, if you like women in prison films... and we all do don't we?

BAD BOYS. Early Sean Penn prison drama. Good film.

ARGENTO coll. Cheap as chips. These originally cost a lot more.

Pity the only HAMMER they have is TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER: one of the silliest.

Try re-reading what I actually said. I said most not all and cited some examples of decent titles.

Is Road Games that good? as it was one of the only dvds I could find that I wanted to see, I should have bought it years ago, but never did :( something always put me off.

C.H.U.D. is a great movie, never want to see the sequel mind you

I liked Road Games. It's a suspense thriller along the lines of Spielberg's Duel - but I feel better.

What's the best version out there of Cat O' Nine Tails? I can't find any comparisons.

I have 5 in my basket :( sadly its harder to order than just placing them in your basket.

Some are in stock, some are out of stock with no date for stock refesh, and some are not even released yet asthey are re-releases :( so if I order it could be many months till I got them, bugger.

By the looks of it, the R1 has the best transfer and set of extras. All the reviews I've read say that the transfer is very good.
