£9.99 at CD WOW is cheap. I'd prefer a box set for about £18 though. I'm not keen to pay more as I already own the current box and won't be getting rid of it. They really should create a new box set with that Extras Disc.

It's a deliberate misspelling of the word 'owned', taking the piss out of people on forums who can't spell, basically.

Wouldnt you agree they "mimic" the original posters?
I quite like the covers :)
Its said there will be a boxset as well as the individual releases but whether they'll be a extras disc as well, I dont know :(
I'm waiting for it to come up on Amazon.com or something, I dont want to order them from CD WOW as they charge on order.

I don't reckon it will contain an extras disc which will be really annoying as I really don't want to have to own two box sets.

That's real overkill. Especially when 3 Discs in each are identical.

Bullshit. An editor of Planetquake.com (back when the "planet" sites were self-contained and had their own localised content/communities and not part of the greater Gamespy portal) in 2000 started spelling "owned" as "pwned" just to see if it would catch on and it evidently did.

I don't like the covers either, they look crowded floating head syndrome messes.

FUCK! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The TC's are non-anamorphic.  :( :x
The Digital Bits wrote: We've confirmed something today (directly with both Fox and Lucasfilm) that we'd begun to suspect... and it's probably going to disappoint a lot of you. It certainly disappoints us here at The Bits. Those new DVD editions of the Star Wars films? The original theatrical versions of the films are going to be non-anamorphic (our original post on this indicated otherwise, but we have confirmed that the widescreen versions will be letterboxed only). What this likely means is that Lucasfilm has simply re-purposed the non-anamorphic transfers that were done for previous laserdisc and VHS releases of the "original" versions of the films. And with that, our enthusiasm for this DVD release has just dropped through the floor. Anamorphic-enhanced versions of the theatrical editions, we'd buy in a heartbeat. But what we're going to get instead is little better than a ported-over laserdisc. In this day and age, releasing a widescreen film without anamorphic enhancement on DVD is just unacceptable. Does Lucasfilm really think fans want those versions of the films on DVD so badly that people just won't care? Yes Virginia, they do. How many versions of these films do you suppose Lucasfilm will try to get fans to buy in high-def over the coming years? And think about it... you just know the studio has to be prepping yet another standard DVD release for next year's 30th Anniversary of the original Star Wars. Do you suppose this means that the theatrical editions won't be included in the super-über box set of all six films? Probably. Ugh.

Wasn't the new Ghostbusters SE reported to be fullscreen only but that was proved wrong??? :?
I don't believe it. First Arsenal and now this

According to this, the covers are updates of the original posters.

Oh yes, just remembered you lost to Barcelona this morning. HAHA, England do indeed suck at a game that they invented.

:D
I was prepared for the fact the O-OT wouldnt look as good as the 2004 versions but this sucks  Lucas is in a win-win situation here.
Anyway, with 2007 being the 30th anniversary of the OT, will they be released again?

This sucks major balls

No doubt Lucas will still charge the going box set rate. He really can be a wanker sometimes.

He's a business man fine which is why I didn't mind the way the Star Wars films were released but not Remastering them really just stinks of a smack in the face.

In some ways I'm pleased as I didn't really want to fork out again anyway and I sure as hell won't now. Non-anamorphic will make them completely unwatchable in comparison to the 2004 versions.

I wasn't sure if I would bother and I definitely no I won't now.

I'd bet the English team would whip the ass of the Kiwi team, if you have one :D . FYI England are one of the best teams in the world (I think) suck no way.

Still the Kiwi Rugby team is very good and we invented that sport too. Not that I care.

Original-Original Trilogy. :D

I agree Brad this sucks ass. If I wanted to watch SW non anamorphic, stereo (OK we cleared the stereo up) I'd go back to watching bloody VHS!!

I'd rather have the recent boxset of the 1997 SEs now.

Agreed. The box set contains the 2004 cuts, the 1997 versions aren't on DVD.

As far as I'm concerned until I hear this is a mistake and they're going to be anamorphic the discussion is over. Limited or not I'm NOT buying them in non-anamorphic form.

Why bother? They know these would sell like water off a waterfall but by not Remastering them they're going to lose out on sales.

Suddenly my Bootleg Original Theatrical Cut DVDs look very appealing :D

Brad - :D is actually the big grin smiley, what Romero means/wants is a return of the old LOL "laughing" smiley (similar to the one on Imports Forum) in place of
