England B v Belarus - 2/5

OK so it was only a B team game and its more about giving our players match fitness - but with at least 7 WC players in there, England should be ashamed of themselves IMO!
Walcott and Lennon should promise and had good games, though Belarus's 1st "goal" was very bad sportsmanship IMO.
The fact we lost a keeper concerns me meore than losing the game, who will Sven take now - Calamity James? :?

James was always on the cards, to be honest. He's got much more experience than Carson. And he's not a bad keeper. He just makes bad decisions.

As for the game, it should've been wrapped up once Belarus had their player sent off (rightly too; he was fouling Lennon left, right and centre) Lennon played very well, but the rest were a little lacklustre.

Their first goal had the whiff of bad sportsmanship, but a couple of things negate this (for me, anyway). Our first goal was should've been disallowed (Owen was clearly offside) and secondly, as the commentator said, make sure the goal goes in, and talk about it later. If it needs to be cleared off the board, then so be it, but as a forward, your job is to score goals.
Their second goal was well set-up, and Belarus deserved to win. There were 'A' players within our squad; it wasn't entirely 'B' players, and they should've known better.

I know, thats why I mentioned 7 World Cup players ;)
Thought Walcott was OK.
Hope the Hungary/Jamaica games are better, though apart from Argentnina (and maybe Uruguay at the end?) when was the last time we played to our potential in a friendly? :?
