Any Artists Here?

Post by thelostdragon »

OK, first of all, I suck at drawing. But as we all know, the field of art is very broad. I know Shen is very talented in terms of drawing and photography. Her account at deviantART inspired me to open one myself and to upload a few of my photographies.

Does anybody else have an account there? I remember that Yi used to have one, didn't you, Yi?

@Shen:
Your portrait of Zhang Ziyi looks better than the real thing. :drunken:

Good question... hmmm... I don't know. Probably due to the contrast. There is this beggar in front of a huge church and wealthy people with bags from expensive stores walking past him. It was a spontaneous photograph.

You are a true artist, LD. :D

Your sketches Shen are very good. Art is the one subject I've always wanted to be better than I am. :(

I took 300 photographs today alone :) bloody weather isnt great, but still :)

Never used a place like deviant art myself, I just upload them to imageshack and places like that or Photobucket. I just like seeing nice things on the net be it hand drawn or photographic.

Following Yi's advice, I tried this "Vue 5 Infinite" thing.

Opps sorry man I didnt see you wrote that many months ago now :)

I upload them when ever I need, so I dont really have too many online so heres some already in my Imageshack account in no order that I have posted for friends and on a photography forums for help and tips :) so its the easiest way to post them as I just have to copy and paste.
(I took 400 pics today in the sunny weather it was very nice! took me 5 hours!)

Nice photos? I'm thinking like best photos in the world. I had no idea that Romero possessed such exquisite creativity (considering his limited brain matter). :D

Nah I kid Romero, excellent work man.

Thanks a lot :)

Everyone should get out with their camera I say, as most people only use a camera on special occasions like a holiday or maybe a birthday when they could easily take pictures of anything, anytime.
I guess people need motivation. I didnt know my little camera was able to take great pictures until I took a picture and thought, hold on! thats nice, then I just started snapping everything after than moment :D now I am upgrading cameras and adding bits on, but you dont need a great camera I found, just give it a try thats the main thing.

Its quicker than drawing thats for sure :D it used to take me weeks to do one picture when I was drawing a lot, you could take thousands of photos in that time.

lol i agree romero, unless my camera is broken, i always have it with me. today i was majorly pissed off becuase its still broken, and the city had some awesome events on in the highstreet, an escapologist and such, i started to use digital cameras but now i went back to film. expensive but your alot more careful with your shots and the result is often you take better photos, but i will get a digital camera soon as i can afford one. :D but i love the old film stuff :D

isnt weird that the most obscure and chance shot can create an awesome photograph, better than a staged one

Sadly my new camera is rather large and cannot just slip in my pocket like my smaller one. The lens alone sticks very far so I neeed to carry a camera bag if I want the camera. I dont mind carrying it around too much, but its not very convinient.

I see many moments that I wish I could capture on my camera, one day cameras hopefully will be as small as mobile phones are now. You can get them that small now, but I like a Big zoom so I can see a long way and spy :)

I just want more and more zoom on my camera, but to get such zoom it takes up soo much room sadly.

I took these yesterday on a rather nice sunny day, its a good example of what a bigger zoom can capture from the exact same spot before and after, as you can see its rather usefull :D all I did was turn the camera to its side to fit more boat in.

Fuly zoomed out, fully zoomed in, yet still I want more zoom :D I am greedy.

yeah my camera is large too, canon eos 3000v doesnt fit in my pocket either, but i am dubious to use camera bags since they just advertize the fact you have a decent camera, fits fine in my shoulder bag tho. a good idea for zoom is the macro filters, extra zoom without too much extra length to the lens and much cheaper think you can get a set of 4 different zoom filters for £19 on ebay.

but im dying to get one of those canon eos 350d or similar lol. SLR cameras i find are just much more awesome than the regular cameras, although if you have the skill you can pull of good shots with any camera. but yeah i dont have too much of that skill :D lol

I want a DSLR, but not for a while when I get lots of cash to get the right add ons for one :) at the moment my Panasonice FZ30 is fine for me, for what I want to do, but SLR's are a big upgrade thats for sure, but one day I am sure I will get one and from the look of it Cannon is te way to go thats for sure.

I am getting some Macro add ons as we speak :D for them lovely insects and flower shots.

I could never go to film anymore, as digital processing on my PC is just so helpful and you can make a bad shot look great on a PC.

I keep my camera in a bad and it does look profesional, but I then stick that in a carrier bag :D then it looks like I am just shopping or carrying anything as I thought hard about it and no way I want mine stolen. I am even wary about where I take it out and use it as you never know who is about.

if i take my camera out of the bag usually i the camera strap around the strap of my bag so that if someone decides to snatch it, it aint going nowhere and it has the mobility to take shots at awkward positions.

i hope to switch back to digital soon, but i got so used to SLR cameras that i find the normal ones hard to use lol. but soon i will get a regualr digicam until i can afford a cheap SLR, think if i get canon then most of the stuff for my Film SLR will fit ontothe digital one, since they are usually the same measurments..

the gratest thing is, i still have my first slr camera...Zenit -E lol 40+ years old! my god its like a lead weight comared to todays cameras, dont use it anymore, too grainy, but its cool to keep lol.

Canon make good digital SLRs, so if you want if you have a lot of lenses for your existing Eos, then then it'd be worth having a look at ones which allow for crossover usage.

I used to take a lot of photographs (mainly in black and white), and I've developed a few manually, but digital does make one lazy :)

Good pictures from both Shen and Romero there. Liked 'em quite a lot.
