Who's your favourite Bond villain?

Post by Markgway »

I've not made this a poll as the options are too limited. So just post your answer and tell us why? You can pick a top three if you wish. Also for fun who's your least fave. Who sucks?

Jaws is my favourite, because he's big and doesn't speak (well, until that stupid bit on Moonraker of course) and of course has metal teeth!

Easy "Ernst Stavro Blofeld". Kevin McClory is a wanker for forcing the killing off of one of the best villians in movie history. Flemming creates him and McClory manages to steal him away.

Has there been any other villian whose reappeared? I wish they'd go back to this idea and NOT kill the villain for once. That worked so well.

Jaws is also cool, pity he only appeared twice. They should definitely bring him back but as a serious role and obviously played by someone else.

Second.

My main reason is that he's got an iconic look. Jaws and Oddjob score highly on this scale as well.

Jaws was alright in The Spy Who Loved Me, but poor in Moonraker. I kept hoping he'd break blondie's neck, but no such luck. :D

I suspect this will be an unpopular choice, but I'll go with Franz Sanchez from Licence to Kill, as played by the excellent Robert Davi. The only "human" Bond villain we've had, that isn't a charicature or megalomaniac.

Worst would be Dr. No. It took me twenty years to realise he was supposed to be Chinese. WTF??

Actually German-Chinese but there is nothing Asian amount the person playing him he hails from Canada with no Asian extraction.

Is Blofeld the only villain to reappear? The trouble is the bond villians from the last 10 years have all been poorly written and only there to be killed at the end.

Yep. He's been played by a few actors but the Donald Pleasence portrayal is the one most people remember (partly because of Austin Powers):

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Goldfinger, yet. Gerd Froebe was a wonderful actor.

Second would be Kananga from "Live and let Die". I love how naughty he is. And "Baron Samedi" from the same film has that awesome laughter.

Ow yeah, I remember Baron Samedi. I've only seen that Bond as a kid, but I remember finding him quite frightening, especially at the end when he's still alive (I believe?) Isnt he on a train or something? Laughing?

I remember Samedi from face a bit but not much else. Damn, I should really start checking out those old Bonds one day...

Who? :? I mean Klaus Maria.
I second the Licence To Kill villain. I also like Chris Lee as Scaramanga.
Sean Bean could of been very interesting but there's little explanation in Goldeneye as to how/why he turns evil. That said GE doesnt have a "proper" villain, Jonathan Pryce was poor in TND, almost camp. Stamper was far cooler.
