thelostdragon wrote:So you mean that Germans cut "Sesame Street" back in the days? Definitely need to get myself an uncut DVD.
Sesamstrasse (German Sesame Street) made its debut in 1973 (I think), making Germany one of the first countries to get its own version of the show. Interesting that Britain didn't get its "own" version of "Sesame Street" though the show "Rainbow" (1972-1992) was originally concieved as being a UK answer to Sesame Street. Rainbow is not without its charm but it fails in that regard

In Britain, Sesame Street first aired on 1TV from 1971 (!) then on Channel 4.

Its not that easy Bein' Green
Having to spend each day
The colour of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer
Being red, or yellow or gold
Or something much more colourful like that

;)

All time classic lament from Kermit.

I love the "In The Quiet Of The Evening" sketch, with a song about what a quiet night it is ("When I listen in the Quiet of the Evening/What do I hear/Water dripping..." etc), then as the song goes on it gets louder and louder until he cant take any more!

Let's not forget its educational lesson, though. By the end of the song, Kermit accepts himself and decides it's not half bad being green after all.

 I guess it is.

I'm green
And it'll do fine
Its' beautiful
And I think it's what I wanna be.

 Mind you Sesame Street had many, many songs where they cheer up a sad/angry person with just one song also, there was one where they persuaded a Number 1 that they were "unique" as they could count the moon, sun etc and other singular stuff. :D

Another extremely stirring song by Kermit is the excellent "My Way" pastiche "This Frog", at the beginning the scene is in a office and one frog says of Kermit "A frog.. behind a desk? Doing office work?! Ha ha ha!" which leads into the song.

68M do you remember the classic Beatles parodies "Hey Food" and "Letter B"?

The Sesame Street versions don't sound quite the same as the Beatles tunes (they're based on them though, certainly in their style), BUT the lyrics can be fitted exactly to the genuine songs (eg "Hey Food" can be sung to the tune of the REAL "Hey Jude").

Try it :D

Um, I didn't take it, nor did I write down the address. Best guess is that it probably has the same address as all those other quizzes, but with areyouasociopathquiz as the end of it? Give it a try, Kurgan. ;)
