Batman: The Dark Knight - 2008

Post by thelostdragon »

Well, "Batman Continues" could be the title for the currently untitled "Batman Begins" sequel, lol. At least this is what the fan trailer claims.

Current rumours say that Heath Ledger will play the Joker and that Cillian Murphy will return as Scarecrow.

Cillian Murphy was excellent as the Scarecrow, however I can't see Heath Ledger as the Joker..

Is that a "joke(er)"?

I was thinking it might be called that but I can't see it in reality as it's uber stupid.

Empire have confirmed that Ledger is playing The Joker and that film will be entitled "The Dark Knight". Please retitle the thread Brad.

I cant see heath Ledger pullig it off. He's an OK actor, but I feels he' very toned down and lacks any charisma on-screen. He's a boring guy to watch, whereas The Joker is obviously quite explosive...

Ah well... we'll see how it goes. I'm used to seeing Hollywood making very strange casting decisions...

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

I actually have faith in Ledger for this. I think he's an underused actor :D
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Latest rumour:-
Guy Pearce playing Harvey Dent. Now theres a genuinely talent actor, unlike fucking Ryan Philippe or ... Justin Timberlake.
source wrote:Pearce is said to be the new favourite – Now that Live Schrieber is apparently no longer in the running – to play Harvey Dent, Gotham D.A, in “The Dark Knight”. Dent’s a good-guy that teams up with Batman to bring down The Joker (Heath Ledger) in the next pic. Later on though, Dent himself goes a little screwloose, involuntarily transformed into the disfigured menace, ‘Two-Face’.

Excellent, Now that is a good casting, Guy Pearce would be excellent to play Harvey Dent. Would love to see his take on Two-Face :)

Should be better than Tommy Lee Jones' roast ham performance.

Harvey Dent is a lawyer who is sending a mob boss to jail. But the boss has other ideas, and throws acid in his face, which scars 1 part of his face. From that point on, he became Two face. An interesting character which I loved in Batman original cartoons in the 90's.

You forgot to mention that the incident fragments his personality into good side and a bad side - he pretty much goes insane.

Tommy Lee Jones didn't have a good side and a bad side he had a hammy side.

Seriously his version of Two-Face was just one-face: a major bastard without any psychological dilema whatsoever other that the best way to kill people.

I never read comics but I gather that's not how it was supposed to be?

Yes, that's exactly how it is.

I can't remember the film now (tried to blank everything from it aside from Nicole Kidman), but did he even use his coin in the movie?

So the new take on Two-Face will probably be closer to the original concept then if it's done by the same team as Batman Begins who had no interest in camp and ham.

Two-Face won't be in the 2nd film, just plain old Harvey Dent - ready to be set up as a villain in the 3rd film if it's made.
