Mel to make Lethal Weapon 5?!

I can't see this happening.

Mel isn't a young(er) man anymore. An ageing Riggs and even more aging Murtargh? No thanks...

Yep... PR stunt all the way. And I'm betting there wont be any jewish villains or corrupt bankers in it.

Ah well... personally I'm not interested. I'm not a big fan of the series and I've never liked Mel (although he made a couple of great movies).
I thought he was obnoxious in LW4, and cant remember how he was in the other 3 parts...

I enjoyed the first 3 Lethal Weapons, haven't actually watched 4 yet (just haven't got round to it).
Something like Lethal Weapon 2 couldn't be made now, with the South African villains in it, very un-PC.

The first two are all-time classics, the third is a lot of fun, and the fourth has its moments (mostly courtesy of Jet Li). I don't see that Mel's age would be a problem for playing a seasoned cop, but Danny was supposed to have retired in 1987.

Only if George Miller doesn't make a trippy arthouse film/Tina Turner ad as disguised an action flick again as he did with the dire Beyond Thunderdome.
