Michael Bay's Transformers (2007) - First teaser

Post by EvaUnit02 »

Here. Right-click>Save link as. 15MB, QT format.

Yes, Bumblebee is now a Chevy Camaro, get over it. VW wouldn't licence the Beetle to Hasbro, modern Beetles are shitty cars driven by faggots any way. The Camaro might be shitty American sports car with stone age engineering, but it's still better than a VW fagmobile.

Nice one thanks Eva. Was it supposed to be atrocious quality? I could barely watch it.

So this is live action right? Michael Bay is pretty much the best man for the job. He's very much like Brett Ratner to me BUT crucially he has some talent so won't given us a hack job.

Try using VLC (www.videolan.org) to play back qt movies. QTPlayer is a real sucky beast!

A smaller inline version of the teaser is at http://www.transformersmovie.com/

This looks real nice IMO. And with Bay and Spielberg on it it may just end up nice :D Though no guarantees from me
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I have no problem with the QuickTime Player. It's RealPlayer I detest and refuse to install. I'd rather not watch a video than install that cack software (thank god for RealAlternative).

I'm thinking I need a newer version which is compatible with the QT codec they used but as the teaser was pants anyway I can't be bothered.

Actually come to think of it the codec looks to be unusual. What's H264?

Anyway here is another 20Mb this time teaser from the official site which works better: http://www.transformersmovie.com/public ... _large.mov

H.264 is one of the new video compression techniques used for HD content.

Thanks. That's right it's one of the many MPEG4 codecs. I suspect you need the latest QT version to be able to open it properly but then it didn't look HD to me.

H.264 is the telecommunication worlds name for MPEG4-Part10 (the latest MPEG4 standard). IS/IT folks call it AVC. So it's got a lot of names.

That file above while encoded with H264 is certainly not HD. I guess they used H264 to give a smaller filesize... and you'd need QT7.x to view it I think. It shouldn't look like pants though... though the trailer from the official site is of much better quality :D

H.264 codecs have been predicted to replace XviD/DivX as the standard codec for video distribution. It offers better compression with the same file size as XviD/DivX, but it requires slightly more processor power.

Concept art, renders and production photos - including concepts for Optimus, Bumblebee, actual photos of a Bumblebee Camaro, Jon Voight, some soldiers fighting w/ pyrotechnics going off, Michael Bay looking like a prick, etc.

I thought Jazz was a cop car and an Autobot. The cop car in the slideshow has a Decepticon symbol on it. Who's that?

No clue. BTW Jazz was never a cop car, he was a plain old Porsche with large pop-out speakers in the back.

Yup, my bad. Jazz was a white Porsche with the giant spoiler.

Prowl was the cop car. If you're after a wave of nostalgia like I've just had, check this out. :D

Not really. The original G1 cartoon is absolutely awful.

Ah, but you see, you didn't grow up with the original Generation One Transformers (the only real Transformers; none of this Beast Wars stuff), so you don't know what you're talking about :D

Actually I did grow up with the G1 cartoon/toys so I do know what I'm talking about, kindly don't make presumptions about my life again.

G1 was a horribly written, badly animated 22min long toy commercial. I warn you, DON'T revisit the show, your childhood nostalgia will be destroyed (like mine has).

More pics (including a MASSIVE non-CGI full-scale TF, a TF in ice, Optimus in truck form, Autobots in Spike's backyard).

More concept art (Optimus, Blackout and Scorpinok in robot and vehicle form).

Confirmed list of TFs appearing the film:-
AUTOBOTS: Optimus Prime. Bumblebee ("The same G1 character we always knew and loved...He's the scout, the one that comes ahead of the Autobots"). Jazz. Ratchet (medical officer/science officer - new form, not an ambulance). Ironhide ("He's the muscle - a tough soldier...The first one to jump into battle" ).

DECEPTICONS: Megatron (has a Social Darwinist view of humanity - survival of the fittest). Starscream. Brawl ("an extremely pissed off Decepticon. Always ready to jump into a fight, even when the fight isn't worth it.") Bonecrusher. Barricade. Skorpinok. Frenzy (an infiltrator). Blackout (sends an EMP-style blast to take out electronics, detection devices, etc. in advance of Decepticon attack).
