Oh man.... I saw The Transporter last week, and gawd it TOTALLY SUCKED.
The one was also a huge suckfest...

So I cant say I'm looking forward to seeing this new flick...

The guy cant even do proper on-screen martial arts.

Corey Yuen is a decent director so this really could go both ways, remember he didn't direct The Transporter.

I like Li and Statham (frankly he's making better films than The Rock) so that's a start. Statham is really making a name for himself in the action stakes, the next Arnie? Maybe.

Considering he has no training I'd disagree.

I liked The Transporter (Shi Qu or however you spell her name was a plus) but agreed it's not a patch on the Cage action flicks (to cite an example).

Whilst I don't think Statham's the next Arnie, I do think he's more likely to be the next Willis. The Rock is the next Arnie because, like Schwarzenegger, he won't get 'normal' roles; he's built like a brick shithouse and wouldn't be in the minds of most casting directors for a role that requires acting. Comedy, perhaps, and that is something that The Rock could probably do better than Arnie, but still...
Willis has graduated to more serious acting roles of late, but can still do action pretty well.

As long as he doesn't screw it up, and gets a really high profile action film under his belt, I think Statham can do something similar.
He's balding, too, which is a step in the right direction :)

Good point agreed. He certainly has more charisma than The Rock.

Can you not read, Brad? Go back and look at the original post, some rap music video director with no feature film experience is directing. Corey Yuen has NOTHING to do with the film, he was likely just visiting his mates Jet Li and Statham on the set in that photo.

It didn't suck. YOU suck.

This looks awesome. Statham is the man IMO.

Just read that Statham is going to play an FBI agent.

As much as I like him, PLEASE, PLEASE don't attempt an American accent. :D

Considering the HUGE array of accents in America and particular California it's not even nessecary to give him an American accent.

Yeah, but Jase thinks he can do one, when he blatantly can't. :D

You will find Statham is a martial artist by the way, he has traning and can do almost anything he is directed to do without the need for stupid wires. He is far better than old man Jackie Chan thats for sure, in charisma and skills and he doesnt feel the need to gurn his face every 15 seconds.

Most important, he is a rock hard bastard on screen! :D Crank shows him in the best light thats for sure, he is killing machine in that 8)

Personally I wouldn't say he has more charisma than Jackie.

I dont know... what martial arts did/does he do?
On screen, he looks a bit slow and awkward, especially in the kicking department.

And there's just no way that he's better then Jackie at that age. Not in any way.

Also, in Transporter he played a rock-hard guy, yeah.... but I didnt really think it was all that believable. But then, I just didnt like that movie. Maybe Transporter 2 is better. But I also disliked Statham in The One, so I'm guessing it's just something personal...

But honestly, I really cant understand why anyone with half a brain (or more) could really rate Transporter highly. Way too much dumb stuff in it... plotholes the size of Mark's hairy ass... bad acting...

No, in The Transporter films he played a closet homosexual.

I saw The Transporter a few days ago... medicore stuff.

Statham was OK, but not charismatic enough to go major.

The action was acceptable, but didn't really show me anything I haven't seen done better before.

Shu Qi was rather appealing, I definately would've shagged her too. :D

Welcome back Mark :D
Yeah, I'd bone Shu Qi too :D

I haven't seen Transporter 1 or 2 yet. But Crank (starring Stratham) sounds fun.
