oops hey i only heard of the dude today

i already pissed off the teacher slightly i was in that kind of mood and everything he asked i came back with a smart assed answer

"write down 5 things you know"
do really know anything? or is what we percieve we know subject to society and therefore its fluctuations and changes?

"how old are you?"
that depends on ones ideas about reincarnation and also ones beliefs in quantum physics, if i believe in reincarnation i could be 1000's of years old, and if i believe in the idea that matter and energy are only transfered never destroyed then i am as old as the universe.
"ok how old is your physical body?"
again in quantum physics terms as old as the universe, but in your terms...19

yeah they are the amercian ones.

athough the upside is we get to study the japanese versions aswell

now i have to find out what teen movies we are doing.
its a bummer because we need to buy the dvds of these movies too! dammit

hey tom,
he's doing ok, still having a few problems with him but hes getting there. now he's settled in hes getting a little vicious with biting but we are curbing that, and still not quite learnt that he should pee outside, not in the kitchen or on the carpets lol. at the moment he's driving me nuts with his squeaky toy, lol. oh and he just bit me for telling him off. damn dog

Naff selection of horror titles.

Only one of those I've seen is 'Halloween' and I must say I found it rather boring.

Just like any of the subsquent teen slashers but without the gore.

Neither as creative as 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' nor as intelligent and disturbing as 'The Exorcist'.

And TWO Hollywood remakes from the last five years... Pffff

yup my thoughts exactly mark, i've seen the ring remake, and although i didnt much like ringu it is better than the hollywood, and i've seen the japanese grudge, as for halloween and the amercian remake of the grudge i havent seen....

the tutor is cool tho lol, 2 hr lesson....lol he let us out after an hour. and really is into asian movies

so his lessons should be pretty interesting, but i am not really looking forward to the teen movies....clueless was mentioned....*cringes*

we also have to make a short film, in groups, im not sure how i feel about that tho tbh, but im not adversed to spending the year watching films

Does it have to be USA teen movies? If not, then just watch Battle Royale and Young and Dangerous Prequal and stuff like that...

well the films are set out by the examining board, not by us. which is unfortunate...do you think i would be studying the amercian horrors if it were?!

i'll find out tomorrow what teen movies we are studying and i am not looking forward to it. i'd love to study someone like Miike, Kitano, Ji Woon, Park Chan etc etc. their styles are quite uncomparable to hollywood. but unfortunatly we dont get to choose the movies. which is a bummer, means i gotta buy the crappy movies i would usually ever put in my collection

As teen movies go CLUELESS isn't THAT bad. But I understand it's not your bag...

I hope you get a good group because I didn't and it was a major pain in the ass. I lost interest very quickly. People suck especially when you have to rely on them.

Clueless is a really well done! You should watch it back to back with Emma, the version starring Gwynneth Paltrow. The modernization of Jane Austen's material is just as entertaining as the old-fashioned approach, I think.

As for teen flicks, though, maybe you could suggest some Wes Craven and knock out two genres at once.

ok i only watched 2 of them, AP and AB lol, Election looks ok from the dvd. and the last 2 i never heard of... i dunno hwo t ot feel about them i ca really do without watching AP again...and well NATM isnt it a Parody on the teen movies?

i just really hate the fact i gotta buy htese dvds...along with around 9 books....

but on good news...im getting the chance to go to Krakow with my history class in feb maybe, to go to Auschwitz ad around the old Krakow town...should be fun, just depends on how much its gonna cost. but i rather always wanted to visit Auschwitz, so this is a pretty great opportunity... lol

American Pie -- Better than the wretched sequels

Election -- Critically acclaimed, but it did nothing for me. Oh, and Matthew Broderick is in it.

Clueless -- Not bad update of Emma, has it's heart in the right place, I guess.

Not Another Teen Movie -- A typically uneven spoof. There are laughs if you know the genre, but a lot of weak material....

American Beauty -- Pants and not what I would call a "teen" movie.

Ferris Bueller -- Stars Matthew "aarrrggghhh" Broderick.

Dazed and Confused -- The one cracker on your list. If you haven't seen this you'll be impressed.

Grr.. the downstairs TV is broken or something

My mum decided to move the downstairs TV away from the wall (so she can see it easier I guess?) - now most of the time the picture is REALLY, really bad and its like the reception is being goosed. Its rarely been as bad as that (certainly not all channels).
Maybe it will mean she finally get an arial guy in but I don't know... :x
