...money was no object?

If money was no object, and I had a garage and stuff, I would definitely go for a BMW. Probably something like this (model wise):

http://www.whatcar.com/car-review-summa ... A=7&RT=592

I'm a bit shallow thinking here, as this is purely on looks alone before everything else (engine, running costs, practicality etc.). I just really love the aesthetics of a BMW. I don't really like Audi, Mercedes, Lexus et al. I don't know why, as you can argue that in terms of the type of car, they don't look that dissimilar.

I currently have a VW Polo like the one here (except silver):

That Volkswagon Polo looks very good...

That BMW is OK-ish. Not really the kinda car I'm all that interested in. Plus its way too expensive.

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to cars btw (yes, ONLY when it comes to cars...) cause I've never really been interested in it.
But at the moment I'm taking driving-lessons, so slowly I'm getting a bit more interested in it. I quite like driving, so obviously I'm now also looking around a bit at cars to see which ones I like.

Cant say I've really have found 1 that stood out. Many years ago I really LOVED the Jaguar XJ 220... and there was a Toyota Celica one year that was pretty damn cool as well... (cant remember which year)

I'll get back to this thread once I have a bit of a clue... :)

I was never really interested in cars until I bought one, but I have become much more interested since! When you start driving properly, it's amazing how quickly you can catch the bug! Now I find myself noticing cars more, when I never use to bother with them.

What would be your dream car is what I'm asking. :D

I considered getting a Punto Grande (nice looks), but the heavy clutch and jerky (not fluid enough) gearstick put me off when I tested it.

Currently drive a 307 (black 2litre diesel, sports pack), got it brand new and had it for just over 16 months now but i dont like it. Previous to the 307 had a mini cooper but as our black Harvey did not fit in the back, it had to go.

If money was no object i would go for an X5. I had the pleasure of having use of one earlier in the year for a weekend. Absolute luxury. :D

My good lady will also be taking reciept of her company car in early october, a brand spanking new golf TDi. :)

Me neither. I know absolutely shit about cars.
But yeah, lately since I've started driving lessons and stuff my interest grew a bit. You start checking out cars a bit, see which ones I like, trying to remember their names, etc.

Also suddenly started enjoying Top Gear. It used to be a zap-alog program, which I MIGHT watch if I happened to come across it while zapping... but now I catch myself not zapping any further and watching the whole show when I come across it. And actually quite enjoying it as well. Obviously, the 3 guys are pretty thick and superficial when it comes to the subject of cars, but hey, it's all in good fun.

Top Gear is great fun. I mean, I'm no petrolhead (I've taken a few lessons, but that's about it), but the guys on that show just get so enthused with their cars that it's infectious :)
But anything I know about cars is down to Gran Turismo :D

Oh, and cheers Mark :) I'm well versed in the arts of innuendo and smut. ;)

I drive a 3yr old Micra 1.0. Yes it's an old woman's car and takes about 20s to reach 0-60s but it's cheap to run and gets me from A to B. It does around 55 miles per gallon so is uber fuel efficient.

Like Brooce, I'd love to own a BMW M5 (or 7 Series) but I would rarely drive it. I'd only use it to show off my superiority and wealth from time to time but would never use it to commute to work. I'd treat it like a limo - only to be used in special occasions. The reason being it does something like 15 miles per gallon, which is embarassingly shit.

Not sure what car I'd like for regular use though - maybe a brand new Fiat Panda 4x4 Multijet.

Something like a Lotus Elise but those aren't practical.

I drive a lovely White Peugeot 306 1.8. She zooms!

Haha I haven't bought one yet - still waiting on the Fiat Panda 4x4 Multijet, which would be so ideal for me. Sadly it's only available in the continent. :(

The micra's my dad's. :?

A mate of mine had an Elise and didn't have any real problems; well, not until something went wrong with it. His radiator got knackered and it cost him £800 to sort out. The radiator itself wasn't too pricey, but the labour was astronomical. As it's a little specialist, no-one wanted to touch it, so he could only get the Lotus garage he bought it from to fix it and he got raped for the cost to fix it.
He has since sold it.

It 'twas a great car to ride about in, though. Summertime was always fun with it ;)

Ah, well, it depends. If it's just you and a mate, or just you and your missus, it's fine. Family-wise... maybe not ;)

BTW... Talking of Top Gear... that presenter Richard was taken to hospital yesterday, said to be in a very serious condition, after crashing during the taping of Top Gear... :?

Talking about Top Gear, saw the funniest episode EVERRRRRRrrrrrrrrr tonight...

...and luckily, it's on youtube.com.

It's the episode where the guys will take a caravan to go on a camping trip.
Seriously, if you havent seen this yet, you MUST check this out. It's hilarious at time :D

BTW, I'm kinda looking at Peugeots a lot lately. The 307CC (WITH ROOF) looks pretty damn sweet.
