Play-asia customs friendly? EDIT - what about dddhouse?

Post by brooce-leroy »

Hi,

I was thinking about ordering a boxset from play-asia (http://www.play-asia.com/) which comes to around £30. Does anyone know if they are customs friendly for items over £16? Do they mark as gift or merchandise? Thanks.

They are customs friendly if you ask them to be (like with DDDHouse). In my experience they are decent.

Thanks.

What about dddhouse? I haven't used them in years, but I remember a few people got stung years ago. I have never ordered a box set from them though.

I think there is an option to write down further instructions. You can ask them to mark it as a gift, or optical media etc. Also ask them to write down whatever value. It's been a while since I last ordered from ddd.

i seem to rememebr dddhouse have always marked my purchases from them as opical media with a value below the customs threshold. though its been a over year for me since i last ordered from them, due to the fact i never got my order and they didnt seem particularly interested beyond the fact that they had shipped it. cool packaging though, i always like to know the name of who packed the order :D

Yeah they wrap it up so nicely. I keep thinking it's my birthday whenever I get something from DDDHouse.

I want to order the Hui Brothers boxset. I originally wanted to order from yesasia, but as soon as I got around to doing it, it went out of stock, When something goes OOS at yesasia, they either take about 10 years to get it back in stock or more likely it is never available again from them. :(

I have paypal to spend so I may go with play-asia (as they accept paypal) but I am not convinced that it is actually in stock there (1-5 days for the order to ship).

I don't know what to do. I may phone or mail yesasia to see if they will get it in stock again?

I don't reckon DDDHouse are as they put the amount on the parcel.
