Paramount SEs for 2007

Post by EvaUnit02 »

Culled from some Dutch site:-
01-02-2007 Ghost 2-disc SE
01-02-2007 An Office And A Gentleman SE
01-03-2007 Days Of Thunder SE
01-03-2007 The Firm, 2-disc SE
06-05-2007 Saturday Night Fever - 30th Anniversary 2-disc SE
07-06-2007 McLintock 2-disc SE
07-06-2007 The Quiet Man SE
07-06-2007 Zoolander SE
02-08-2007 Galaxy Quest SE
06-12-2007 Godfather 1 (Newly Restored)
06-12-2007 Godfather 2 (Newly Restored)
06-12-2007 Zulu 2-disc SE

If this list is true, then I'll definitely pick up the Days of Thunder SE (should be anamorphic at last), The Quiet Man (John Ford film with John Wayne and Scarlett O'Hara set in Ireland), Galaxy Quest, Zulu and The Godfather 1&2 remasters (they were gonna re-remaster these a couple years back for individual releases but they just used the same old 2001 transfers in the end).

Godfather doesn't interest you!!!!!!!!, one of the finest gangster/period/drama film that is out there in the whole world.... Such an excellent movie, with excellent quotes.

Ooohhh Galaxy Quest, haven't got that, so may want to get it, really enjoyed this movie, poking fun into Star Trek..

"Ghost" indeed interests me. I knew it was worth waiting for a special edition to be released one day.

Not interested in the Godfathers though.

The Firm and Ghost when they're cheap but I'm not hugely interested in them.

Godfather and Godfather 2 if they're really Remastered will be mine but wait where's Godfather 3 Remastered? I already own the box set so would need to sell that and get Godfather 3 separately (the current DVD) but then I'd lose the exclusive box set documentary. Fuck!

On second thoughts it will have to be one hell of a remaster.

There are already is a Ghost SE so this will be the second SE for that one.

p.s - Zoolander SE??? It's shit.

Agreed.

Stick the old Paramount discs in the new amaray cases and sell them off to an ignorant friend. I got rid of any a NTSC-PAL converted anime boxset recently by selling it off to an ignorant mate, what he doesn't know won't hurt him. I plan to get rid of my GITS1 R2UK NTSC-PAL mess by giving to him as birthday present in December. (Which I only sampled, it's still pretty much new). I also got rid of my shrink-wrapped non-anamorphic R2F Raging Bull by giving it to another ignorant mate as a birthday present (he doesn't care about widescreen and the like anyway.)
p.s - Zoolander SE??? It's shit.
It's a cult favourite and obviously has been a good money maker for Paramount. Shit films get SEs all the fucking time, get over it.

LOL. The wait probably isn't too far off, Warner are prepping a Risky Business SE. Every fucking Tom Cruise movie will probably get the SE treatment eventually.

You like Zoolander? I remember it having 1-2 good gags but otherwise it's awful.
EvaUnit02 wrote:Stick the old Paramount discs in the new amaray cases and sell them off to an ignorant friend.
Yuck that wouldn't work as they'd not be the same set and the disc colours are bound to be different.

Fair enough but I couldn't do that.

Has it? I've never heard a good thing about it.

The only great Stiller film I've seen is "Something about Mary", the rest are lame.

I really enjoyed "Meet the Parents" and "Starsky & Hutch".

Looking forward to "Alone in a Museum" or whatever the title was again.

That's the impression that you give. I recall you saying that you liked the utter bile film White Chicks and thought that Little Man looked good judging from the trailer.

It's so sweet how you remember things and how they give you impressions of me. I never even watched "White Chicks".

Don't know if I said the trailer of "Little Man" looked good, but I'll say it here, it looks like a film I could enjoy.

Sorry, you said that you loved Dodgeball. I was dragged along to both those movies relatively in a short space of time between each other and thought they were both fucking dire, you can see where my confusion came from.

You pretty much did.

Eva, no need to link as if you needed evidence. I never denied that I loved "Dodgeball" and I never denied that I thought the trailer for "Little Man" looked cool. I even confirmed it in this very thread, so get that stick out of your ass.

Besides, it is not like I'm in court and my likings of these films are guilty pleasures.

Who ever said there was anything wrong with liking fratpack films? If you got that impression then I apologise. It was just an observation, there wasn't any POV negative or otherwise connected when it was made.
so get that stick out of your ass.
Now that was uncalled for.
