:(
R1 or Euro R2 for me then if I buy the DVD, unless the cuts apply worldwide (a la Goldeneye/TND, etc)?.

"One scene of torture and strong action violence"
Sounds a pretty strong 12A even so.

In retaliation - I refuse to watch this film and any other Bond film until I watch this uncut. Who's with me?

I'm not going to see it at the cinema now just because of that.

I'm still going to see it as there's no guarantee of an uncut version forthcoming.

I suspect the same print will be released everywhere as per Tomorrow Never Dies.

The BBFC can only classify what they're given.

Blame the distributor for insisting upon a 12a and the filmmakers for making it too brutal for its intended audience.

Yup I 100% don't blame the BBFC.

The studios are so evil... just accept a 15 rating already...

I don't see an uncut version appearing on DVD for a long time. Look how long it took to get GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies & Licence To Kill uncut in this country...

That's so sad...
first they do the right thing and going back to Bond's roots by making it all more serious and darker again, hiring a new Bond guy who's more grim, serious and realistic... and then in the end, when the movie is done, they go back on their intention of making the movie more realistic and mature, by cutting it down to a 12A to get those tiny, pimple-faced teens to see it...

What a shite studio.

Dont know if I'll watch it in the cinema now. Perhaps it's better to just wait for an uncut DVD. I was starting to look forward to this movie, after having seen Layer Cake (in which Graig impressed me very much).

GE and TND are still technically not uncut.

Yi, it's not like it will be cut everywhere. I am quite sure we will get an uncut version.

I hope so, LD. However, wasnt it with a bunch of Bond DVD's that because they had cut UK versions, they also released those cut versions here in Holland (and maybe Germany?)

It's sad to see the studio taking these steps though. First promising and boasting that this new Bond will be more mature, realistic etc etc... and when the movie is made, so the directors and actors did their job to make the movie darker and more serious etc, the studios backstab them by cutting stuff out, just in order to make it into a 12A movie...

Yi if you're talking about Goldeneye/TND etc, thats not true in the sense that the European "SE" DVDs of those films used the US print (less censored than the UK DVDs of the time). I know because I have the Benelux (Dutch?) SE DVD of Goldeneye.
If you're talking about Licence to Kill, then that was cut everywhere until this year.
Mark is right, I don't blame the BBFC either. Its exactly like what happened with Goldeneye/TND.

Maybe Casino Royale will be uncut in other countries?

But I wouldn't assume so until we hear positive word.

In the past these pre-cut versions have made their way overseas.

Of the BBFC-censored 007s from 1962-2006 Licence to Kill is thus far the ONLY one to be put onto DVD fully uncut (in the Ultimate Edition).

Casino Royale will more or less be uncut everywhere apart from the UK (obviously excluding backward censorship boards from China, India etc).

Some dude on thedvdforums confirmed this. So if you buy the US DVD, it should be uncut.

Thanks Bisc.

Good to see it will be uncut on R1 then. It won't stop me seeing it at the cinema; which will at "least" contain the torture scene in some form.

Not me, have you seen the trailer? It looks awesome.

This is all heresay as far as I'm concerned.

The only thing we know is that the movie will be cut in the UK.

The rest is conjecture and speculation.

Indeed the trailer looked awesome, and it still looks as if the film will be quite violent.
