I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

lol, we have so many kids coming to the door for candy, i dont mind the little ones to as its just fun, my niece looks adorable as a cat. but its when the older ones come round like 13/14/15 years old that it becomes less fun.

Yeah, it's not safe to open your door these days what with all the neds hijacking the occasion.

Shame for the little ones just wanting to dress up and have some fun.

Nobody goes trick-or-treating in my neighbourhood.
Way too dangerous...

People over here can't go out at night without carrying some heavy weapons and bulletproof body armour.

We dont have Halloween here in Holland. Maybe some yankee-wannabees are celebrating it, and there are probably some halloween-themed parties going on, but it isnt a national happening like it is in the States.

In Noord-Holland (where I live) we do have St. Maarten at 11th November, where kids go round houses, sing a song, have a lantern (often self-made at school) and collect candy (or, when you accidentally happen across a dentist, he might give you a toothbrush).

Mostly, it's a safe affair, but ofcourse you always hear stories about older kids taking candy from young kids, and the usual urban legends of strangers hiding glass, needles or poison in the candy they give away...

Halloween is a Celtic tradition not American.
