"This Life" returns after 10 years

Woo hoo, pity it's not a new series:

Does anyone remember this cracking TV show back in 1996/1997 with as fond memories as I do? It was so well written and great fun to watch.

It then only lasted 2 series :( . The BBC cocked up big style by realising to late how popular it had become and the cast had already got contracts elsewhere.

p.s - Series 1 and 2 are airing again on BBC2 oddly late at night though (around 11).

Not just the sex, course language too and unflinching plots. I thought it was very well written anyway.

I didn't expect you to like it, it's mainstream TV and British. Enough said. If it were American you'd probably have loved it.

I remember hearing about how it was absolute hot shit in England, but it felt utterly boring when I tried to watch it. Then again I was like 12/13 at the time though. It followed in the grand British TV tradition of "ending far too early/ending while we're on top".

I don't know why you poms are so afraid of a show's quality going down hill. I mean you have no problem prolonging utter garbage like Coronation St and Eastenders for fifty-thousand decades, but god forbid a genuinely good series runs for longer than two seasons, each one only being six episodes long.
