I don't remember having to fight to buy my last console.
Mind you, I was 7 at the time and it was a Sega Game Gear.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".
I was in Eindhoven yesterday, and the local toystore still had Wii's on the shelve I think. Well, the boxes were there and it nowhere said it wa sout of stock.
Personally, I might pick one up ina few years time, when both the coonsole and Zelda will be budget-priced.
For now though, I cant be bothered.
Nintendo has failed to impress with both N64 and Cube (some great games on both machines, but way too little support from 3rd party developers, and the great games were just 'not enough' IMHO...)
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
Red Steel - 4/5
Haven't finished it, yet, but so far it is one awesome game. The controls need a bit to get used to, but once you have finished the first level, it's awesome. Only reason it is not a 5/5, is the fact that you can only carry two different weapons with you (apart from the swords) and that the bad guys don't die as bad ass as they do in "Golden Eye" or "Perfect Dark".
Why did you get three nunchuks, but only two Wiimotes? What are you going to connect that third nunchuk with?
Rayman - Raving Rabbids - 5/5
Fuckin' awesome. The funniest and most fun game I have played on Wii so far. I bought "Zelda" today, which I am sure is going to be my favourite game for the next few months, but next to "Zelda", "Rayman" is the best game you can get.
Super Monkey Ball - 1.5/5
Turned it off after 15 minutes. The music went on my nerves and the mini games didn't seem to be fun at all.
How much would I get for the 'Cube if sold it on EBay or in Gamestation?
Not sure I want rid of any of the games though, Cube games are as rare as rocking horse poo over here now it would seem
I ain't getting rid of any of my GC games. I have a fine collection now and wouldn't trade 'em in for anything
On a slightly different note, but still definitely Wii related, have a read of this and enjoy. If you have a Mac. If you don't, then weep
I've tried it out and it works a treat. I can't wait for multiple Wii remote support
What I'd do is check the prices on eBay for GCs and then see how much you'd get if you traded it in at a place like Game or somewhere.
I doubt you'd get a huge price for it.
You're right not a huge price, standard seems to be about £10-£20 for the console.
I'll ask GAME, unfortunately, annoying Gamestation don't allow to spend credit on games in their bit of the store anymore in St. Albans, I have £35 credit (something like that) that I can't use on games in there
Grim/Kurgan, don't forget to keep your controllers and memory cards, its the only way to play GC games on the Wii, plus they also work as cheap virtual console controllers
I think nintendo should re-release/package all there GC back catalogue and put them back in the shops at budget prices, GC games and peripherals are like gold dust, its good that the Wii plays GC games but if all the games and peripherals can't be found for love nor money it kinda renders it redundant unless you had a GC to start with.
EASY WAY to get past the virtual console region locks, getting rid of the shitty black borders on the PAL versions, heres the vid, better hurry up before nintendo cottons on and updates the firmware
He just changed the regions on his Wii's country setting. Initially, it was set to New Zealand (where he paid onto his account) and was then changed to the UK to access the UK's library of games (which are apparently greater than NZ's). I'm going to see if it works for Japan and the US games now
Blaizey, I had no intention of getting rid of anything from the 'Cube Especially when I've a Metroid Prime faceplate which looks sweet.
And I 100% agree that Ninty should re-release their back catalogue, except with a slightly more 'Wii level' of enthusiasm regarding the marketing. There were plenty of games that were good for the 'Cube; if they'd market the hell out of the back catalogue, then there would be no problem in them making money, as there is no development time for games that are already made
So, the biggest question is, will "Golden Eye" be released on VC? I know that Rare has been bought by Microsoft, but the game was licensed by Nintendo.
Yes I know, but as you say, because Rare has bought Microsoft, and Activision now has the Bond licence, it will cost Nintendo lots of $ to get Golden Eye (or Perfect Dark for that matter) on the VC. Reggie Fils-Aime is probably just saying what the fans want to hear I guess ("we're looking at the rights issues")
See if it works Kurgan. I will get a Wii sometime next year I hope
With Perfect Dark, Joanna Dark/Oerfect Dark and Conker are not a Nintendo IP, so its not up to Nintendo, but Donkey Kong etc are Nintendo characters, so thats why Donkey Kong Country, Diddy Kong racing etc can appear.

sweet!!!!!! i got metroid prime:echo's for my birthday on the sunday just gone, really impressed with it, and a decent multiplayer too.
Hope MP:corruption has a WIFI multiplayer
I think the problem nintendo might run into is that most shops are getting rid of there GC stock, so if nintendo re-released there gc back catalogue, it might piss some shops off as they'll have to re-buy all the stock again, and theres the peripheral issue, say if they released the GC controller again (in a sexy Wii white colour) at a budget price(say a tenner), it might put people off buying the classic controller which is £15
I don't think you can play US or NTSC games with that change country trick somehow, UK is PAL so you can only play like "PAL" games, not from an NTSC region (it seems like) We may miss out on Mario RPG and the like I was really looking forward to playing that as it was never released in Europe first time round.
Doh, seems its just PAL to PAL (New Zealand - UK), got excited there too
Apparently the australian and new zealand virtual consoles are terrible, (lack of games, no turbo FX at all), so basically there changing the settings so they can purchase VC games from our shops.
So i suppose technically a NTSC to NTSC (USA to Japan) wil would work in the same way
Were there any old games released in Australia/new zealand not released here in europe?
On a lighter note, NOE have confirmed Wario Ware: smooth moves will be released in europe on the 12th on January, however its £34
Not that I can think of, I've read that some VC games are the US versions (?) or not as lazily converted, eg Super Mario 64 runs faster than the European N64 version.
What do you mean by Turbo FX?

yeah i heard that too, some games are the shoddy PAL ones, the others are the proper full speed/screen ones
i meant the turbo grafx,
hope theres more commodore 64 games to come out on it too, or even amiga games, hell a cannon fodder would be great to use the wiimote on.
Hey, do you use the nintendo VIP website to register your GC games, there changing it so with your points you can purchase wii points for the virtual console
I hope and pray that someone will have the foresight to release Creatures and Creatures II: Torture Trouble from the C64.
And you're right, Cannon Fodder would be great to play
I've used the VIP thing on Ninty's site since the launch of the GameCube, and got a few things from there, but I am now very interested in how the conversion will work out. Something tells me that it won't be a 1:1 rate, though
