Thanks Eva. :) Same to you and to everyone else on the site (Aside that spamming ass-monkey that's been around the last couple of days, obviously)

Merry Xmas all...

A fine day to remember and celebrate the birth of baby Santa, and hopefull we can all stay in bed these days and watch cartoons and xmas movies, and the football... :)

BTW, does Santa wear that thick red overcoat when he's in hot australia, Eva?

Does Santa smoke legalised cannabis, watch beastiality porn and attend gay marriages when he's in Holland?

What the fuck is wrong with you? Dishing out unproked insults of one's nationality for no apparent reason at all.

Happy Christmas Eva and everyone else, still 11 hours for me until the 25th.

How would Eva know he's in New Zealand??? Where I suspect it's cold (but yes in my experience he does).

Right, but in Finland it's christmas on 24th. Or that's at least when I can open all the presents I bought to myself (mostly with other people's money of course...).

Eva, you tend to switch from :D to  very quickly a lot recently. The only person who is like that in NZ would be Gollum. :D

Really? Or is that just your house? 24th makes little sense.

They gave you money before the 24th???

All Finland.

I asked them to. Been doing that for years. My presents have 2 week delivery time, so I have no choice. I won't open them untill today, of course.

Jeez Eva, Yi was only making a joke :) I see nothing bad in it, it's a decent question, since UK winter is NZ summer, what does Santa do? :D
Do you have beach barbies? ;)

I've been hearing that.

It makes little sense when you consider Jesus wasn't even born on the 24th, what are you celebrating? The fact he's not born yet :D

It's like celebrating the new year on Midnight of the 30th/31st of December. Yeah I know it's really still the same year but we'll pretend it's a new one ;)

Interesting.

How about you "wait" until it's actually Christmas? No offence but to be given money 2 weeks prior is just weird to me. Some do that in England too but I'd never want to. I always want to wait until the day until I open my presents. I also dislike only getting cash.

What happened to family choosing your parents for you? It's not "that" hard to get it right, they know what your tastes are and even if they give you cash, so what if the DVDs arrive 2 weeks later. They gave you the money at Christmas that matters.

Getting only cash, buying your own presents and being given it 2 weeks prior is far to clinical and cold IMO. Rant over :D

I don't believe in surprises. The only person around here that is able to buy me stuff I actually need is me. No one else has a credit card, and they wouldn't know what I need anyway. Basically, they give me the money, I get the presents, and then they give them to me on christmas. Of course I only do this with my parents and closest relatives.

:| :o

You spoil ALL the fun though opening presents. I still get excited aged 28. Getting it right though when you can tell someone loves the present you picked is even nicer though.

I gave my Mum a poetry book one year, she was so chuffed she started crying. I wasn't expecting that.

Do you give family presents out of interest or give them money too?

Anyone else just HATES Xmas?
I mean yeah the food and candy and hot chocolatemilk and the many movies etc etc and all is great fun... well it is for most people ...

... but damn man, the fucking shopping and card-sending... it's a fucking nightmare.
Everyone wants presents yet no-one can just be clear WHAT they fucking want, and where I can buy it. Giving money is a bit unpersonal, so you do want to make a bit of an effort... so you spend days upond days browing through CROWDED shops full of fat, slow, annoying people who also bring their KIDS with them...
Goddamn... I'm just thankfull I dont have many friends or any extra lovers or whatever...

And I dont know what I would like to get, so people dont know whta to buy me either... so I'm just as bad...
Tomorrow have to wake up early to cross the country to visit my girl and her family... then at night take the train back home again...

I cant wait to just be married, have a home of our own, and then pretend illness each and every year so we wont have to bother visiting ANYONE...

I'd cry, too if I got a poetry book. The only difference is that you would expect that from me.

They still get "real" presents :)

But my mom and dad and grandmom and grandad especially, they don't have the slightest idea what to get me. They'd give me a pair of socks and money anyway, so I just as then to give the money to me a few weeks advance. Or actually, to be precise, I only asked my parents to give me money advance. I borrowed some money from myself, bought presents (aka stuff I need) on other people's behalf and open them today. I'll pay myself back when they give me the money. Because I know that's what I'm getting. They don't even know about this.

It's a different thing if you're getting a present from a girlfriend for example (love). Also, I think age has something to do with this. I don't see myself doing this at the age of 28. I see your point about giving presents out of love, but in case of me I know my parents love me ( ) and they'd only end up putting money on something I don't need. Better for everyone if they just give me money. And better for me of they give it a few weeks advance :D
