Yeah, it was already planned in advance that they'd bring down such a statue (or maybe there is only one of those), and that they'd film it and they'd send the images all over the world and as we all know, each and everytime there's a news-item on Iraq, and the USA's invasion, they'll show that clip.
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

I don't know all about this but;
Is the Iraqi "state" muslim? Is Islam the state religion of Iraq? If so, yeah they shouldn't have done it on a holiday (but as someone said, they did it just prior - which is "almost as bad" though).
However. What if they did it on the 25th? That would probably be real unpleasent news for all "good christians" that want to celebrate their Christmas and got a Dead Saddam on their tellys. Or perhaps on the 24th? Which would be bad news for people in Scandinavia (of whom most celebrate their yule feasts on the 24th).
I'm not getting into the discussion about wether an execution is the right thing to do... I just wanted to point out the above. And as I said, I don't care enough about it to dig out facts...
However, muslims making a big fuss over this is so totally not unexpected... He's dead. He died on morn of your holiday. Get over it.
For the iraqis out there. Focus on rebuilding your country and for god's (whomever that would be) sake get those Yanks and Brits out of there.

Stay away from the US thenbradavon wrote:I couldn't image living in a country where it was normal to walk around with a gun, that's wrong in so many ways and not IMO really a country at all.
More examples of the US brain washing machine forcing their beliefs on the entire world. When will they realize that US law isn't Earth Law? Bah... humbug.bradavon wrote:Will ultimately democracy last in a country which as I said doesn't even really want it. I can't see it personally.
But it's very "biblical" isn't it? An eye for an eye and all that? Not much turn the other cheek though... :-/grim_tales wrote:Punishing murder with murder is hypocritical isnt it?
Yeah, but do we? Did they REALLY capture the REAL One... and where did all the doubles go?Kurgan wrote:As for his execution being filmed, I think the reason was so that it could be proved he was actually dead

Oh and while you're at it, stay away from Israel as well then. 90% of the households in Israel have firearms and not few of them carry them with them in the streets.gojensen wrote:Stay away from the US thenbradavon wrote:I couldn't image living in a country where it was normal to walk around with a gun, that's wrong in so many ways and not IMO really a country at all.AFAIK there's a few cities still were you are "almost required" to wear a gun...
But that's off-topic.
