the R2 A Bittersweet Life for only 3 pounds at CD-WOW, using that 5 pound voucher :D

I'm glad I waited for a good offer to come up, instead of spending it on some movie I'm not all that interested in, a few weeks ago...

How comes you didn't get the R2 version?

Bullet Train, plus others are quite cheap on play.com for 3.99, may buy them

Weren't some of them like NTSC-PAL? I remember hearing that Bullet Train was IIRC. Also the UK release of at least one of the Yakuza Papers films was cut by the BBFC.

R1 because of Virus. The only option for that film is the R2J, which costs twice as much as the 3 film R1 box set. Golgo 13 transfer looks pretty good and I haven't the film so I'll decide later whether to upgrade or not. I have no intention of watching the R1 Bullet Train. They said they'd be releasing a proper version in the future. Optimum is NTSC to PAL (I could live with that) but it looks like it could have serious problems with darker scenes and it's also a damn long film. Optimum's G.I. Samurai was almost unwatchable due to heavy pixelization. I don't know if it was because of the length of the movie, but I'm not interested in risking my money again. Kadokawa's SE appears to have the same transfer, but without any of Optimum's problems.

IVL's Bullet Train should be a Toei port (as is Optimum, but without the conversion of course). R4 Chiba releases are Optimum ports.

Hmm... Good point. Thank God they didn't release G.I. Samurai. Otherwise I'd almost regret putting a fortune on the R2J

Doh!!!, Lucky I haven't got that version then. I have the Streetfighter boxset and the picture is pretty good, so may just go for either R4 or IVL.

Rio Grande - to complete my John Ford Cavalry trilogy.
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid - to replace the cut R2UK that I'll be receiving from HMV in the Peckinpah boxset.
Femme Fatale - a terrific De Palma film, which I don't own yet.
