I prefer the early seasons to the current ones.

Futurama's miles better though.

I've wathed it a few times throughout the years, only bits of episodes over the last few years but yes back when it first started I watched a few right through.

I even bought the Simpson's album :D , remember that. So I must've liked it back then but I just find it average now. Don't get me wrong it's far from trash say like Buffy or Angel, just well average.

Futurama is well dull though.

I guess I just find like anime (which is much better) they're hard to take seriously being animated. I don't have much time for animated Americans films such as the ones shipped out each year.

Madagascar is rubbish. Toy Story, Story 2 and Lion King are excellent but otherwise pah give me a proper film.

How are The Simpsons and Futurama supposed to be taken seriously in the first place? They're comedies!

So animated films aren't valid "proper films" now? Oh please. Go watch the works of Mamoru Oshii and Satoshi Kon before you make absurd generalisations like that.

Oh don't get me started on the drivel that is South Park, man that's trash of the highest order.

As for Anime I said it was vastly better but as I've already said I can't connect or relate to the characters (one of which is crucial in any film, it being bad or good). Animation can't convey emotions in the same way humans can.

I have seen Akira which was good but overrated, and Spirited Away which is very good but again not something I've got much interest in seeing again.

I can't find a 'depressed sigh' emoticon, so this - - will have to do...

Spirited Away and Mononoke were brilliant films, of course animated characters can convey emotion, it depends on the character, story, script, quality of VA.

Toy Story 1 and 2, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Shrek are awesome films which convey plenty of emotion.

I disagree, or at least not to the same level a human can. No matter how good they are they're drawings or CGI. Agreed Shrek/Shrek 2 are lots of fun but I'd never put them or any other animation anywhere a top 10.

Anyway that's just my opinion. What does VA mean? Do you have to use abbreviations for everything you say? :D

As an avid fan of the series, I'm really looking forward to the new film. Next to 300 and Grindhouse, it's the film I'm looking forward to the most. :)

I probably should Bisc, that's been mentioned to me a few times. Which DVD is the best to get?

R1, UK R2 and R4 look identical but are either PAL DVD NTSC to PAL?

I have the R2 but I believe that's NTSC to PAL. Great set otherwise.

Pshaw (or whatever the onomatopoeic form is meant to be.) You need to see newer eps like Cartoon Wars or Trapped In The Closet for some fine satirical content. As well as just being damn funny.
And since when has stupid not had the ability to be funny? ;)

That South Park episode where Cartman enters the 'special olympics' is awesome. Just brilliant.
I dont like every SP episode, but they do all have laugh out loud moments in them.

I wouldnt get them on DVD, but when it's on I will usually watch it.

The montage sequence in Up The Down Steroid has me in stitches every time
"I'll show those goddamn retards!"

And the anime-styled Good Times With Weapons is classic, too. :)

The best SP episode is the one where Cartman is anticipating the release of the Nintendo Wii and then freezes himself only to be released like 200 years in the future.
