Champions League tonight

Post by grim_tales »

Did anyone see the Man U-Celtic game tonight? Truly cracking game, Louis Saha was very good and could scored 4 goals at least :D But Celtic were good also, great first goal and stunning free kick by Yakamara (sp?) to equalise at 2-2 :)

I heard Arsenal beat Hamburg 2-1, I know Gilberto scored a penalty, what was the other?

Seemed so from the extensive highlights I saw on ITV.

It was a dive. The keeper barely touched him and the ball was nowhere near the net. That decision cost Celtic a valuable away draw.

OK Giggs ended up getting injured, but I don't think it was a penalty. As you say the keeper barely touched him and look how far away he was from the keeper when he went over. :x

Time to use this thread again ;)

The Man Utd-Lille game was a bit crap (part of me wishes I'd watched Real), but it did have that interesting 'almost' moment. Have to agree with Ferguson's opinion regarding Lille; they need punishing for bringing the game into disrepute.
The other point is that it was such a half-hearted attempt. There was no way they were going to walk off. Not with the sheer loss of revenue that an action like that would've incurred.
Shocking, just shocking.

Celtic 0 - AC Milan 0

While this does pile the pressure on for the away leg, I still find it quite remarkable that Celtic can get decent to very good results at home against even the best European clubs. I mean in the last 4 or 5 years the only European clubs to beat Celtic at home are Barcelona and Ajax. Juventus have lost, Man U have lost, Porto have lost, Barcelona have lost as well... I think Celtic have shown they are a very good team at home.

Away from home though... *cough* *cough*... they just cannot get it right at all.

AC Milan isnt a good team at the moment. They are doing poorly in a poor league.
I hope Celtic will win, cause I'm fed up with AC Milan constantly getting to the final stages with lots of luck.
PSV was tremendous yesterday, with especially our GK and back four in very good form. Now people know why Gomes (GK) and Alex are legendary in Holland :)
Havent seen the Lille-Man Utd incident, but it didnt surprise me that a dutch referee was in the middle of all the controversy, cause our refs are absolute shite.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

That doesn't excuse the players walking off but I thought Lille's first goal should of stood :? I saw nothing wrong with it.
