Naruto 360 RPG

Screenshots from the upcoming Naruto RPG being developed for Xbox 360. The dev studio is Ubisoft Montreal (who're behind the Splinter Cell series and the upcoming blockbuster Assassin's Creed), so expect it to be a great game.

Yeah, but I believe I've read that Ubisoft only have the rights to the toonami version of the anime, and thus it's unlikely they can use the japanese voicecast. And if this only has english voices, I'll pass...

Those French motherfucking arseholes have shitcanned the idea of Japanese voices, because they want to keep the game on schedule. They delay Assassin's Creed but not this too? The big Xmas present cash must be too good to pass up.

Oh, word has it that the Japanese voices will be offered as downloadable content. So I recommend buying an Elite (or upgrading to a 120GB HDD), otherwise good luck trying to fit that onto the puny 20GB HDD.

Yeah, I asked about this at the official Naruto Ubisoft board, but they decline to give any answers yet.
So it doesnt look good.

But I'm not picking up the game if it doesnt have the jap. voices. Once the jap. voices are up for DLC, I'll consider it. But it should have been in there from the get-go.

Not the only bad Ubisoft news of today, cause I just learned the dutch version of Assassin's Creed will have some dumb-ass dutch wigga's providing the menu-music for the Dutch version the game(!) WTF!?
This means that if I decide I want this game, I will have to import it from the UK.

Why are the gamedevelopers continually screwing over european gamers? Ninja Gaiden Sigma censored, we get ripped off when it comes to pricing and content, and now this shit of crappy local 'talent' ruining games...

Life isnt much better over at your side of the pond though...
I read the Australians have banned Soldier of Fortune 3 ... -sigh-

Maybe we should all just move to Canada so our games will be cheap and uncensored...!?

Bummer man.

Yeah, but to be fair, EVERYONE is getting screwed over in the case of Naruto. It's NOT game DEVELOPERS screwing, it's PUBLISHERS. Eg in the case of Naruto, some greedy French execs want the game out in time for Xmas.

That's not my problem. Australia has no R18 rating for videogames, that's why they've banned so many. NZ ain't affected by this. Eg They get cut GTA games with the sex bits removed, we get the same uncut versions as the UK.
Maybe we should all just move to Canada so our games will be cheap and uncensored...!?
No fucking thanks, they're even bigger assholes than the original French.

Yeah, I also feel Ubisoft should have just postponed it, but since they are also marketing this game at 14-15 year old american brats, they cant postpone it untill after Xmas, as that would lose them lots of sales, Plus those little american bastards dont give a fuck about the japanese voices not being in there. They dont wanna READ. They are perfectly fine with the horrible english dub.

It's a shame, really, as I always feel you shouldnt release something that isnt good. Or great.

Good to hear about the New Zealand laws concerning this, are more tolerant. Not that living in New Zealand is really an option though.

I hear Vancouver canadians are pretty cool though. Toronto Canadians are bastards. So if I would ever move to Canada, I'd aim for Vancouver.

Jap voice track will be free.

Ubisoft has announced that Naruto purists who want to experience the Xbox 360 game of the same name with original Japanese voice actors intact can do so with planned downloadable content. The DLC for Naruto: Rise of a Ninja is planned as a post-launch release via Xbox Live and will be, thankfully, free for anyone who's interested. A classy move, one that we hope more developers will pay heed to.

Yeah good news, although I cant understand why they didnt just include the japanese language on the disc already, instead English AND French(!)
Why not English and Japanese, and make the french dub availaible for download!?

Also, I'm curious if this means ALL the dialogue in the game will now be japanese, or that there are still bits (like the cutscenes from the anime) that are still in english...

Anyway, I'll wait till everything is 100 clear.

You can also download Shikamaru for free btw. Again, NO idea why they didnt just include him in the retail-version from the get-go, as obviously he was done in time, but I guess they wanna get the Naruto players familiar with DLC before scamming them to pay for all kinds of crap that really should have been in there in the first place...

Oh come on Yi, use your common sense. This will be sold in Nth. America, where the primary languages are English and French (and Spanish, but that's not recognised as an official language of either the USA or Canada AFAIK). The primary target for this game is kids who watch the dub on Cartoon Network, not weaboos whom buy the uncut bilingual DVDs(/watch fansubs).

The greedy French execs want to stay on schedule, because the Xmas season is a vital time to sell games.

This game is also targeted at a WESTERN audience. It's a 360 exclusive, a console that was D.o.A. in Japan.

Also the 360 uses DVDs, a format with limited storage space. There's only so much you cram onto them.

Well... it's also being marketed and sold to many fans of the anime, of which many would prefer the japanese voices over the french voices, right!?

We realize, that one of the most asked questions was “Will Naruto: Rise of a Ninja feature the Japanese voices?” And while that question has been asked again and again, we haven’t been able to respond until now that we have final confirmation. It is my great pleasure to finally officially confirm that Japanese voices will be available for Naruto: Rise of a Ninja in a free post-launch download. Here is a short list of some of the cast that will be lending their voices:

* Junko Takeuchi - Uzumaki Naruto
* Kazuhiko Inoue - Hatake Kakashi
* Chie Nakamura - Haruno Sakura
* Noriaki Sugiyama - Uchiha Sasuke
* Kujira - Orochimaru
* Akira Ishida - Sabaku no Gaara

The list above is only some of the Japanese voices cast that will be included in the game. So don’t worry if your favorite character isn’t listed above, the ENTIRE GAME will be in Japanese. This includes Story Mode, Fight Mode, all your favorite characters, the NPC Leaf Village characters as well as the anime cut scenes!

The final thing I’d like to point out, is that you do not need a Xbox Live Gold account to download this. A free Silver account will work as well, so don’t worry!
