Got $3 Pacific credit, what should I get?

Post by grim_tales »

Hey,

Because of returning the faulty "In The Mood for Love" disc to Pacific, (I'll get a new one sent soon), they've given me $3.67 credit and I was wondering what to get with it? :)

Not something too cheap as it probably wouldnt make a difference :?

Well then you should.
It's a fucking masterpiece ! :D

Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (you know, the guy who did "Amélie" and "A very long Engagement").

It's half-dream half-fairy tale.

Well worth a watch IMO. :)

I hear COLC is very good. I don't think Jean-Pierre Jeunet has ever made a bad film.

Wow 4 bucks though, DVD Pacific really must like you :D

@ Grim: It's not often Tom has taste but Jean-Pierre Jeunet's work is almost resoundingly liked.

and  that must make him great then. Try seeing it, then comment on it.

He is a hack, to busy making things look good, but forgetting to make a film.

Yup. It's one of those "lets do something fucked up and hope people will think it's cool" films. I liked Ron Perlman and some single scenes but that's it.

I love Perlman, but in this film he was awful. Strange for the sake of strange I say.

I haven't seen A very Long Engagement yet, or Amelie (sp?) - I would like to see it, - but I would submit that if a film has high fan (and critic) praise, the general consensus is that it is good :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAH That is the funniest thing I have ever heard in my life.

Next time you dont like a Critic loved film (which you have done many times), I will point it out that you said such a stupid thing. Your taking after Bradavon now.

Not worth getting into, if you think you like "all films" others (fan or wanker critics) like, I suspect you are just wrong.

Grim said "generally". I happen to agree with Grim's point of view though, but then you already knew I would :D

Hey keep me out of this. I've barely been on these boards lately and my name still gets mentioned. I've been uber busy after getting back from travelling, and will continue to be when I start looking for a flat.

It's not my beef.
romerojpg wrote:and  that must make him great then. Try seeing it, then comment on it.
I didn't say it did but first (as per usual) try reading my comments before going off on one.

I have seen Amelie and A Very Long Engagement, and both are excellent. I've no doubt this at least is "fairly good".

Moving on . . .
