Sunshine (new Danny Boyle/Alex Garland film)

I was going to ignore this film until I discovered who the director and writer were. Trailer has the Requiem for a Dream music on it.

looks suprisingly costly for a boyle/garland film, yet the trailer seems to show most of the film and give way too much away, so think i'm gonna skip this one, not exactly a fan of there previous works

did anyone else see the obvious dummy of michelle yeoh fly at the camera, jesus, that whole 2 seconds was far creepier than the enitire '28 days later' :mrgreen:

I liked 28 Days Later (except for the shitty ending), but The Beach was rubbish. Overhyped backpacker stoner non-sense.

don't get me wrong, 28 days later was ambitious, but incredibly flawed, especially the third act with the introduction of the army.

but some of the idea's in it were good, i like the way the rest of the world is just carrying on, and the idea of the virus is ok, and the fact all of manchester is on fire(some would call it an improvment

), but its very much style over substance. filming it digitally also made it look impressive in parts, but then you'd get a shot that made it look so, so cheap, like a student project.

however, despite my dislike for the film, i am looking forward to the sequel '28 weeks later', looks like a over all better production, with a bit of money behind it, and without garlands stunted writing style.

regarding sunshine, kinda looks like 'event horizon' meets the 'lost in space' film, which is such a bad idea its scary

Danny Boyle/Alex Garland syndrome strikes again. Just like 28 Days Later (and The Beach too I'll admit. But that went to shit in the 2nd act.), this film had a fairly good beginning and middle, but an absolute garbage 3rd act. Let's just say the film starts out like 2001 but shifts to being more like Event Horizon.

Yup I felt the same way, great film for most the film then it went odd, strange and stupid. Still the sun shots look nice
