The Departed R3 2 disc SE - $4.95 from CD-WOW.

Maybe not as good as IA but sure worth $5.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 22 May 2007, 18:01

The film is spread over 2 discs WTF?

Shen · Post by **Shen** » 22 May 2007, 18:08

LOL grim its a loooong film....pretty common with long films now look at the LOTR EE's

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 22 May 2007, 18:30

OK fair do's on the LOTR EE's but Departed is "only" 2.5 hours long - why 107 mins on Disc 1 and 47 mins on Disc 2?

romerojpg · Post by **romerojpg** » 22 May 2007, 18:37

Because its FULL BIT RATE DTS. and it makes it sound a better set when its on 2 dvds.

Shingster · Post by **Shingster** » 23 May 2007, 02:00

I swear to god, in the FULL BIT RATE DTS track the sound is so MOTHERFUCKING CLEAR you can even hear Nicholson's geriatric piles squelching every time he moves!

I received:

Jackie Chan Invincible Fighter/Golden Queen's Commando from HK Flix.

Silly retitle (JC has nothing to do with GQC as Ken said) the picture of Jackie on the box even looks like the one used for Columbia's Snake in the Eagle's Shadow cover art.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 23 May 2007, 13:07

I also received (as birthday presents);

Life on Mars: Season 2
Casino Royale R3 2 disc
Purple Storm HKL

Me too tbh. Cheers Shing - that's probably the best review I've read!

Humphrey Bogart Classics: Volume 1 from HMV.co.uk.

The packaging is quite unusual, like a "fold out pack in a box" sort of thing.

Shen · Post by **Shen** » 24 May 2007, 15:57

From HMV

Happy Feet
The Prestige
Goodbye Lenin

It had better be the Altman film, because the spinoff series is dire.

Closed Headphones - Audio Technica ATH500. They blow away the Sennheiser HD-555s apparently.

Quality stuff. I know you'll have a right laugh (or to go all local on you: 'a reet laff') playing it.

The Departed R3 2 disc from CD-WOW.
I dont think its the HK DVD though. It has different extras listed on the back and a massive "PG" logo. It has English and Thai language, with English, Korean, Thai and Indonesian subs. Maybe its the Korean DVD?

No idea if that is uncut or not.
For £2.50 I dont want to send it back, too much hassle TBH.
Could possibly be the Thai DVD? It has English 5.1 EX and Thai 5.1. Is it cut?
