I went for a job interview today but didnt even get to be interviewed (turned out I didnt even have the right documents).
Grrr.. this sucks

BiscLimpkit · Post by **BiscLimpkit** » 06 Jun 2007, 17:23

What documents did they ask you to bring? What was the position for?

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 07 Jun 2007, 08:50

It was for an admin assistant at the Valuation Office Agency.
I misread the bit about bringing all my school certificates so didnt know about that, I knew I had to take my passport too (as well as a CC statement) but couldn't find it (passport) in time

Doh!
I couldnt "bring them later" due to new rules, at least I know I can get an interview with them though should another job come up.

Sound like a bunch of wankers.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 07 Jun 2007, 16:15

lol, why?

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 07 Jun 2007, 17:46

School certs... passport... credit card statment... urine sample...

What next?

Your granny's pubic hair for a DNA match?

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 07 Jun 2007, 17:49

I know what you mean.

BiscLimpkit · Post by **BiscLimpkit** » 07 Jun 2007, 18:33

Aye seems a bit much for an interview. They should do all that shit after you've been offered the job (apart from the pubage sample lol).

Yeah, they save that for the three-month review.

Could be a problem if you granny shaves?

Well, does she Grim? 8)

Hey,

Didnt see the point in starting a new thread for just this, so wanted to say on Tuesday, I'm going on holiday for a week to Crete with my family. I'm sure I'll be searching for an internet cafe the moment I land

BiscLimpkit · Post by **BiscLimpkit** » 10 Jun 2007, 20:17

Don't be sad Grim. We'll survive without you for one week. Enjoy your holiday with your family.

How lucky! Have a nice time among the Cretans, Grim.

Crete. . . . Makes me want to go watch Powell and Pressburger's Ill Met By Moonlight again.

Thanks

Today I said goodbye to my friend Lea (who I go to voluntary work with)

She is leaving as she has a new (paid I guess?) job

I'll miss her though

This thread has turned sad..

thelostdragon · Post by **thelostdragon** » 11 Jun 2007, 12:58

She ain't dying. She's just working somewhere else. Call her and meet with her after work.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 11 Jun 2007, 13:11

Fair enough. We'll keep in touch by email (hopefully) so could arrange that

thelostdragon · Post by **thelostdragon** » 11 Jun 2007, 13:21

I knew you'd be reasonable.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 11 Jun 2007, 13:34

Yeah, but when I asked "Will I see you again?" she says "I'm not sure", maybe yes, maybe no.

thelostdragon · Post by **thelostdragon** » 11 Jun 2007, 13:43

I looked that up in the "Woman - English | English - Woman" dictionary and it says that this means a clear yes.

grim_tales · Post by **grim_tales** » 11 Jun 2007, 14:05

I didn't know that

It's a shame I can't have a "Good luck on your new job" beer with her and co-workers next week.

Markgway · Post by **Markgway** » 11 Jun 2007, 15:27

I think LD is using an out-of-date dictionary.

When a woman says "I'm not sure" after being asked directly if she'll likely meet a bloke again it means "very unlikely/I'm not interested/I don't care".

If she was interested in meeting up with you again you'd know as she'd have made it clear and perhaps even instigated by giving you a telephone number/e-mail address to encourage future contact.

Sorry.
