What a crap year i'm having..
Sorry but i need to vent my spleen
My year up to now has been a tale of woe... My wife has been into hospital for an operation and needs to return for another one, maybe two more, work is becoming a great pressure due to my position in the company, i've fallen out with a long term friend of the opposite sex who after speaking to her every day for 4 years won't even speak or reply to my emails and to finish it off my niece's husband died the other day, aged 33 and leaving 5 kids without a dad
It's got me thinking about karma as up till now i've been pretty lucky in life and am wondering if this year is payback....and it's only June

yeah its understandable, i hope your wife is ok, and your niece will be too. 33 is no age at all. i thought my dad was youngish at 64, 33 is just terrible. we can only hope the 2nd half will get better.

Wow... sounds like Tom's bad luck is rubbing off on some of us
(BLAME THE FRENCH GUY!!! BURN HIMMMM!!!!)
Sad to hear about your problems, man. Hope verything turns out ok with your wife, and hopefully you can do something to soften the pain for your semi-nephews/nieces... cause that's just harsh, losing such a young husband and father...
I can relate to the losing touch witha great friend part. I had a good friendship with an Indonesian girl, but somehow we lost contact over something, so now wenever ever speak again. not TOO big a deal for me, as I'm pretty used by now to burning bridges and leaving people behind, but still, occasionally you think back about certain people...
I'm also having a shitty year, mostly health-related... so I'm joining the 'boohoo-group' with you, Tom and Shen...
One day, they'll make a great real-life movie about our sorrows and problems. LD can be the action director.
Grim, you and all your love-woes (as in, you getting none), can also join... although just as comic relief for the rest of us

Sorry to hear that Salty. I find whenever things are really low given a few months something happens to make up for it, usually.
I'm having a pretty good year but before that did have a 1-2 years of hell with my old boss, before I changed jobs in the police. My old boss tried everything to get me fired, thankfully others saw above it and it didn't happen.

I absolutely know how that feels like. People asking you about your future and you just draw a blank ...saltysam wrote:Thanks for everyone's comments,i'm sure things will improve but at the moment i seem like i'm at the start of a dark tunnel with no light at the end of it
Kinda hard to explain to people who've never been in that situation, but hell... still gotta keep moving forward, one babystep at the time, and hopefully somewhere along the way a ray of light will suddenly break through somewhere... cause stopping isnt really an option at the moment, right!?
Anyway, I just try to focus on the small little things to look forward to, like a movie or a footballmatch, etc ... and just keep hanging on to those things for the time being. Cant do anything else anyway.

Quick update... my niece's husband's funeral was yesterday morning, awfully sad,his kids all kitted out in LFC tops (this was what he wanted,he was a big red and he was put in rest in one himself)..real shame and i don't know how my niece will cope. Can you believe she is also getting shit off a neighbour over some minor dispute, apparently he knocked the other night and had a go at her while Mark was lying in his coffin in the living room...
on a more positive note i've had a concilatory email from my estranged female friend,as you'd expect it was a bit tentative and i don't think we'll ever be close again but at least we may get back to speaking terms at least.
