Today I bought Super Mario Smash Brothers Melee, or whatever it's called, for the Gamecube. It was only 10 bucks (euro)(new) and supposedly a very good, fun game. I tried it for 5-10 minutes but really didnt understand it much yet.
But I guess it takes a little time to get into.

Nope, this is the first Smash Bros game I'm ever playing...
It has gotten lots of great scores, but TBH, when I played it for 5 minutes, I didnt really 'get' what all the fuss is about. I know 5 minutes isnt enough to judge a game though, so dont worry ;) I'll give it another try :)

Make sure you do and see if you can rope someone else in to play against. SSBM is one of the finest games I've ever played, quite possibly because it's one of the most fun games I've ever played. I think I've clocked more hours with that game than any other, before or since. The more people that play the game simultaneously, the better it gets. If I'm being honest, I've never really played the single player game, but played the game to death against my brother and my sister. A 3-way beat 'em up :D
It's just nuts, and I can't wait for the Wii sequel, which'll feature Solid Snake duking it out as well :D. Rumour has it that Sonic might be in it as well, which would finally answer all those 'who's better between Sonic and Mario?' arguments we had as kids :)
