Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Post by thelostdragon »

It's the adaptation of a world bestseller. People love it and even the geeks at IMDB love it. I watched it at the theatre yesterday and personally I thought it stank. It might be the most expensive German film ever and it might have Dustin Hoffman in a hilarious role. And although I enjoyed the soundtrack and never read the book, I thought the film reeked more like poo than a perfume made out of beautiful women.

2.5/5

What genre is it?

EDIT:
Holy shit, Tom Tykwer has made a new movie! Run Lola Run was awesome.

I don't know whether to commend Tykwer or damn him for his perfect emulation of Tim Burton. The lyrical fairy tale quality, even the Danny Elfman-esque music... a flawless replication.
