Liverpool - Champions' League winners

Post by degeneration »

Well don't know how they did it...

Played completely off the pitch for the 1st half. They barely showed up for the game, yet in the 2nd half it was a totally different story.

From when they got the 1st goal, Milan were no where to be seen for the next 10 mins. It did seem that Liverpool had the ball all the time and were constantly around the Milan box.

After the penalty it calmed down a bit and became a more even game.

then as extra time loomed it was a reasonably dull affair. Particularly in extra time, where bar a few chances nothing much happened, and near the end of the 2nd period it seemed both teams had resigned themselves to penalties.

Dudek was lucky to get away with his antics on the goal line... his moving around to put the player off, that was fine, and clearly worked, but he was about 5 yards forward when the person actually kicked the ball on most occasions. Particularly Milan's 2nd penalty, it should've been re-taken.

Anyway, in the end Liverpool got it... my resentment that an English team won it wasn't really there, so I hope the English press etc don't put it back by going on about it too much or for too long.

At least the match was largely entertaining.

I agree Degen it was a great game! :D I too noticed Dudek dancing about and waving his arms on the goalline, thought you weren't supposed to do that? :?
Awesome comeback by them though :D

Other than me now having an epileptic fit from wolf.xl's avatar, it was the moving from the line I was more commenting about.

On the 2nd penalty Dudek was way off his line when the ball was kicked, which is why it should've been retaken.

Any, mute point now.

Agreed it was a real shame especially since they completely outplayed the South Americans. It's great to see their league form as good as their Champions' League form at the moment. Apparently it's Liverpools best League form in 15 years
