We ONLY have to beat teh world champions to guarantee our place... I just bloody hope france drop points in both their remaining games. Think that'll be the most likely chance we have of going through.

From what I heard England were unlucky, we were just absolute piss.

We couldn't hit a barn door all night, and for a supposedly crappy team Gerogia played like qualifiers.

WTF was McLeish thinking by using only 2 of his 3 subs when we were losing 2-0. We needed to win FFS!!

England were shit.dodgy penalty for the russians as the foul was outside the area. luckily i don´t really give a rat´s ass about international football. oh well at least eng-er-lund´s hard working players will have next summer off to rest and we won´t have to listen to another shit version of that awful frank skinner song.

And bloody french... Lithuania were doing so well to keep the game at 0-0, then the french get 2 in 2 mins in the last 10 mins of the game. If They had drawn that would have made things a little better for teh scots...

Yeah, but apart from that. After the game MClaren said "We controlled the game", I thought we were mostly poo TBH. I saw Russia had the ball most of the time.
And Israel have to beat/draw with Russia which I'm not sure about

Israel is a tough place to go but still

I saw the match live on Eurosport, and Russia were clearly the better team.

Then I watched the BBC coverage, and suddenly I got the impression that England had been the better team(!) Weird how that works

Anyway, deserved win for Russia. And England has every right to bitch about the penalty, but so had Russia in the last match against England, when they were denied a 100% penalty at a crucial time during the match.

As most of the leadng english teams contain mainly foreign stars it´s not a surprise the national teams fail.back in the 70´s and 80´s Liverpool had a strong scottish contingent like dalglish,hansen,souness etc. now i can´t remember the last scot to play for us. the top 4 sides have very few english players as first choice except for maybe utd,arsenal have none!
