Debit card Fraud!
had a call from my bank friday, someone had tried to buy £1000 worth of stuff using my debit card details
printed my statement, there were two withdrawals there for £ 4 and £5 from a usa wireless internet provider. so clearly my card has been hacked
luckily the bank spotted something was up and declined the large transaction.they are also refunding the amounts that did leave the account. my fault for using my debit card online, won't be doing that in future.

Add to what Eva said if the Debit Card has a VISA simple then when you use it the merchant will be none the wiser. I've never seen a Mastercard Debit Card but they probably exist.
It won't be CD WOW it could've come from anywhere.
My card has been hacked twice one time it was from some Swedish company I've never heard of. You could tell this as their was a reference on my statement that I put into Google. Of course that reference could've been unconnected to who actually took the cash. My bank were aware of someone at the time doing this.
In both cases I filed a claim with my bank and they swiftly gave my money back. Salty it's very likely you're covered even though you used your debit card.
