unfortunately amazon have been declaring the cost of the two discs on the customs label meaning people are getting hit with customs wrongly.

I was considering getting The Prestige for me and POTC: DMC to sell on as there is nothing I want except for The Prestige but decided this close to Xmas I really don't need it and with that information I certainly don't.

Customs sadly has went up over the last year

its insane they are legally allwed to double the fees like they have. The initial fee is now £8 alone! (used to be £4) then add on the tax and its not good for importers anymore if you get caught

such a shame.

Still if you are one of the lucky ones who does not get caught go for it

I always have and probibly always will, I must be on some list.

It probibly would not be £20 +as some of that is postage I guess

not sure the exact amount, probibly around the £15 mark.

I always assume the worst as I get stung by DHL payments as well, which is more cash on top. I paid £20+ on a item costing £30 a few weeks back

now that sucked.

Stick to customs safe companies,you may pay a little more but it's cheaper in the long run.

sadly many TV shows cost just over that. In the end I wait for sales, it may take time but most things come way down in price.

If only the UK would up the import price to £30

then it would be far, far better for us.

My god that's high.

I've been lucky in the past and it got through but like most have also been caught out.

I cannot understand the justification behind that. A customs charge is there because you've paid no tax on the item. I cannot be arsed to work that out but £20 on a £30 item is way more than any tax amount I've ever heard of.

Many complained over the last but one Madman sale in Australia. People were deliberately places several orders below the customs limit but the idiots combined the orders (who asked them?) and people got stung.

So do I always BUT that's almost impossible if you want a box set.

Customs free companies for them is the only option. It's annoying those companies usually charge way more than the cheaper ones though, so you cannot really win.

It's weird how some companies have no customs limit period. They must be losing out on millions, you'd think they'd think they are entitled to.

The Aussies only had VAT 15-20 years ago for the first time and it's something low like 10%. Of course they still complain though. Some Mainland European countries their VAT is something crazy like 4% but others are even higher than ours at about 20%.

17.5% is just stupidly high though.

Movietyme, Axelmusic and many others

but many of them do up the price a bit sadly, so it is hard to find deals sometimes, but I guess if you hate customs its the only way sometimes.

i got it from dvdworldusa where it's £49.99. but they give a 5% discount when paying by BT and if you mention on order you are an av forums member they upgrade you to express shipping for free. it's not cheap but it's like £56 at axel and £59.99 at movietyme

I agree Salty. It's:

£43 from Amazon.com
£45 from DVD Pacific

So it's not like it's worth the risk from an American store. If it was say £35-37 then it "may" be worth the risk.
