Nice. I think I'll hold on to my Amazon.com order. It's only £4 more and no risk of it being damaged. Are there any other BD or HD-DVD bargain deals? I cannot see how to order by price.

At least with HD Discs it's less likely it will be in bad shape. HD hasn't yet reached "Joe throw it around the room Public".

lol wherehouse has the most comprehensive and over the top packaging i've ever seen. there motto is why use 1 roll of bubblewrap when ten will do.took me 10 minutes to unwrap my underworld evolution blu-ray the other week.

I meant that it could be damaged as it's second hand not damaged in the post. I don't want to take a risk with Blade Runner.

I've just picked up Goodfellas HD-DVD for $14.99. They also have King Kong HD-DVD for $18.99. It's a good job postage is free as it's otherwise a whopping $10.99.

they've changed that since i posted the link-said english subs earlier. No Brad i've kept my amazon order,can't be bothered switching.but for anyone who wants this i'd go with wherehouse.actually their pre-order hd prices are pretty good with the free shipping. Simpsons,Rush Hour 3 are £14, movietyme,axel etc are £18. i pre-ordered Timecop hd-dvd combo for just over a tenner. they have used copies of batman begins & black hawk down for £7.50.

Its not great when its cheap everywhere as its not an expensive combo like the others out there, they lowered the price as its got fook all extras or effort.

Yup I meant its a cheaper title than your average combo dvd, in fact it shows you that the combo idea can work at a fairish price. They do not have to charge silly prices for the combo label at all. They would sell more if they lowered the ignorant combo prices in america.

Still Timecop is not what I call a classy title that will sell massive amounts like some other bigger titles, I want it, but even £10 for me is too much

I have not seen it cheaper to the UK than wharehouse free shipping offer, but sales may change that (we can but hope the same for many hd films).

It's strange they made Timecop Combo at all.

Warner seem to have take note and AFAIK have dropped Combos but Universal still love them. If Combos were maybe $1-2 bucks more I'd happily buy them as I do like the idea but they can be as much as £5 more.

I wish e-tailors would get their fingers out and start with the HD sales. I'm not expecting £2.99 HD Discs like DVDs but some kind of competitive sale please.

If they lowered prices, I would own a lot more. At the moment HD DVD is at least stopping me spending a fortune, as hell there not hundreds of titles I want to pay over £10 for when I have the dvd already.

you are both cheapskates. the going rate for the the average hd-dvd -blu-ray can be anything up to £12-£17 (in the case of fox) but you pair haggle over a measly tenner for a disc.

£17 down to £10 is some saving, that's not being a cheapskate. I'd understand your point if it was £17 down to £16, or even £14. I never said I was expecting HD Discs to be 99p. I said I'd like a competitive sale.

You honestly think £17 is cheap for one movie? I don't, on any format. It's expensive, not reasonable, expensive.

I'm not saying I wouldn't pay it but it is a lot to ask for one movie. Times are very different now than they were when DVD first came out and it was perfectly normal to pay £17.99 at Play247.com for an elusive R1 DVD.

I've also said I no longer want to own hundreds of movies. I already own far to many DVDs (560 but I want to get it to around 450). It's much easier to keep a collection a reasonable size if you don't buy so many in the first place. With that in mind it's only logical to be extra picky over price.

I happen to think Romero raised a valid point when he said: "as hell there not hundreds of titles I want to pay over £10 for when I have the dvd already.".

When I get a HD Player I'll pay £12-14 for one movie but when I cannot even play them it seems a bit dumb to go mad and buy loads. That and you know I'm unemployed, it's also Xmas. Personally I think those are two very good reasons to be extra picky.
